Nice review. Based on the description, I would expect something in the vein of TWA mix, nothing radically new or different in the surround mixing approach.

What I am still confused about is whether the Atmos mix is completely different from the 5.1 DTS mix, or is an extension of the same mix. Based on one earlier preview, I was kind of getting the feeling the Atmos mix would be an unfocused echoey mess, but maybe that’s not the case at all.

It definately is not an echoey mess. The music has direct sounds and plenty of space.

Because I'm on such a tight schedule tomorrow (with King Crimson in town) I have created the poll threads tonight, but they won't be open for business until tomorrow morning.

As @JonUrban has already said, the poll threads are only to be used to post reviews of the disc (and specifically the respective mixes) so anything else will either be moved or deleted.

Mine's en route from Pittsburgh with an ETA of Oct. 1, but since I'm in NE PA., I'm guessing it'll arrive on Sat. Honestly, since I just ordered this a few days ago, I expected my order to go from pre-order to back-ordered when the release date arrived. This has happened to me previously for major releases. I like ImportCD's prices, but I'm always prepared to wait a bit. This time I seemed to have gotten lucky.

Its the 27th here in AU. These are in stock from JBHiFi just down the road (1km away). $175AU

Why did you post this... now I have to go and get it.
But I am still refrained because of mixed reviews... I'm tasting the stereo remix on Tidal, but what I really care about is how the 5.1 will sound (and if there are any major differences between the 5.1 and atmos mixes). Perhaps it's worth waiting a few more days before deciding... $175AU is still a lot for one surround mix.

My prediction given no Japanese or Federal holidays this weekend, it will arrive on 10/1.
