NY Jets Acquire Tyrique Stevenson from Bears for Woody Johnson and Bag of Reese's Pieces
I've got some good news for you...but it might come with some bad news...I think the Jets might beat the Houston Texans...I've been following the Texans and the injuries to key players keep mounting...this week it was another WR ..Stefan Diggs....but even more important was Jarrett Patterson...an Offensive lineman...the Offensive Line is bad...really bad...they can barely keep Stroud upright...they have had to shuffle players..like a deck of cards...and if the Jets choose to blitz...if could end up like what the Vikings did to Houston..

Now the bad news...if the Jets could pull this upset...the madness will start again...how the Jets could defy all odds and ride this win to Super Bowl glory...the illusion will re-surface...the nightmare might continue...talk about the pain and suffering to those fans of the Jets...it just isn't fair..

Just for the record....many of the talking heads on sports shows say the Rodgers trade was the worst in NFL history...they are wrong...the Browns have that distinction with Watson...

AR my friend...you deserve better....

Thanks to you Clinty, I got better...more like I got the best. "Best" in our circle is a euphemism for Oppo 205. Love it to death!
I remember your concerns about the manufacturing process...with the exception of selling some discs on Ebay...I don't sell things(hence all the Oppos that I will never use)but I felt strongly about the 205 and I pushed a little for you to purchase it...I'm glad it worked out for you :)

I’m glad that I bought a 103D when I did. At this point, I only use it for ripping SACDs. Otherwise, I use a ChinOPPO 203 to playback my collection that I have stored on an NAS drive.

Judge had a great regular season. Rodgers, not so much.

Am I mistaken, or is the problem that many of these power hitters get themselves into a hole by failing to take advantage of what the really good pitchers give them?

If the pitchers aren't going to serve up home run balls, but rather curves over the outside of the plate, perhaps these guys should try punching the ball through the gaps in the infield or over the infielders' heads. Two runs scored by playing small ball counts just as much as a two run homer.

What you’re talking about is the difference between Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani is more particular about what he swings at and he’s happy to get on base, however that happens. Yes, he’s hit 50 home runs but he’s also stolen 50 bases(small ball, anyone?). Judge feasts on bad pitching but he also can’t adjust when faced with great pitching. That’s why his postseason batting average is around .194.

There’s a great article in today’s Athletic about the hole that the Yankees have dug for themselves and how Aaron Judge’s struggles at the plate are emblematic of the team’s most recent failures.

I believe that it was @JohnN who pointed out that Monday night was the “sports equinox,” i.e., a day in which games were played in the NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB. This was the 30th time in history that this happened.

The Yankees, Giants and Knicks all lost their games on Monday, giving NY the trifecta. There were no NY NHL teams on the schedule on Monday.

That observation is spot on...and it has been a part of baseball from the very beginning...the home run hitters usually had flaws...they either strike out a lot or are poor fielders and had to be put on 1st base...the Ohtani types don't come along as frequently...the all around player who can hit for power and also be good enough to get hits.

Yes, Mickey Mantle was another exception. The man owned centerfield which went on forever in the old Yankee Stadium. Willie Mays is another one.
