cbmmm3, wakeup! Good news.... Wake up Lions won!!!
Detroit deserved to win, you outplayed GB. Packers should never have let Jamal Williams go to Detroit, I always liked him!
Congrats on the 9-8 winning record for the year. Too bad LA couldn't have beaten Seattle. Wow, you may have been able to give SF fits!
Even if GB would have won, SF would have killed em next week. You were right about that Markie!
I hope Seattle can at least give SF a little resistance😵. Seattle had been able to beat SF often in the recent past but not the last 2 games....

So @marpow , I see that you used the phrase "we will beat." What position are you playing? Linebacker?

Lions vs Packers was an excellent game with both teams not giving an inch. Another great NFC North battle despite the Lions having already been eliminated. They played like it was their Super Bowl.

Alas, Jets reject Geno Smith has taken Seattle to the playoffs; but I don't give them much of a chance against the Niners. However, I'm hoping for a decent game because they are division rivals. Ditto with Miami vs. Buffalo.

The most interesting game to me is Dallas at Tampa. Dallas is only 4-4 on the road. I really think that a team with a losing record should never be allowed into the playoffs. The Lions should be playing instead of the Bucs. But I hate all post-Landry Dallas teams, so I have to root for the Bucs.

Now that was something wonderful to wake up to. If only that bogus roughing the kicker call in the Seattle game............
Spoken like a true Lions warrior ,..... " If Only "

Bring on the 2023 / 2024 NFL Season !!

Markie - San Fran is top tier in the NFC - along with the Eagles. You got a first round gift. My Lions would have made for a very tough game for you due to how the 2 teams match up. Ill be cheering for San Fran to play The Bills in the Superbowl. The Niners are purdy darn good. But - its the Bills year ( IF they can get past KC )

Wow, Miami wins 11-6 & gets the final playoff spot. Unusual score....
They did what Tennessee couldn't do last night. WIN A GAME after losing 5 in a row!
Well, at least New England didn't get in....
I live in New England and I’m happy to see the Pats put out of their misery yesterday. They gave away so many games that they didn’t deserve to be in the playoffs. Just imagine, if they were to beat Buffalo they would have gotten the chance to play…Buffalo. We’ve seen that movie before. Now I’m looking forward to seeing Tampa lose. Does any team with a record like theirs deserve to be in the playoffs?

Thank you Rickie, I feel I have an intimate relationship with the lions now after watching Hard Knocks this year, Dan Campbell is an awesome coach. I have said before the Blue and Silver uniforms have always been my 2nd favorite color uniforms. Watching Detroit beat the Packers last night was sweet, shows a team with true grit. I look forward to watching the Lions next year as there trajectory will surely rise.

The Niners most recent Super Bowl loss, Chiefs and loss last year in NFC Championship to Rams, all hurt.
My confidence during the regular season is always more cautious this time of year. Anything can happen and have seen many teams lose that where not supposed to. Saturday we play the Seahawks, they are a good team and will play us tough.

Sean McVay, Rams, might resign, what?

what I like about Campbell -
1. gutsy and creative play calling
2. says what he wants to say. there is no bs
3. has the players believing in themselves.

I think we have FINALLY found the right guy. It took us several decades to find him

ya gotta wonder about McVay and that Denver head coach vacancy.................hmm........

Some plays are worth watching over and over, especially when they are as ballsy as this...

even bigger balls. 2 plays later --4th down and 1 and he has Goff throwing a pass. A successful Packers season ending pass. If this would have went incomplete the clock would stop and the Packers would have the ball - and a chance. Or even worse , a Packers interception

okay, my last Lions fawning and bragging for the season as us QQers now need to talk The Playoffs. But one last Lions send off -

Its a pretty cool video

That was a good video. I like Dan Campbell.. Seems like a bit of an old school type coach. Still hard to believe the Lions finished with a winning record....
Just a couple more thoughts on the game. I saw right away when GB came out that they didn't 'have it'. They couldn't run, they needed score tds not fgs in red zone & so it goes... Detroit sure didn't look like one of the worst defenses in the league. They had been giving up 25 points a game; GB wound up only scoring 16 points. I hope Rodgers retires!
Packers should never have let Jamal Williams leave in free agency😩. He had some great games when he was with GB but didn't get a lot of playing time. That is till other guys would get hurt... We want him back!!!

We are thinking along the same lines, Ricky. My thoughts:

The most likely upsets (These should also be the three best playoff games):

1) Giants over Minnesota.
Best reason for an upset: Minnesota has been getting away with murder all season long.
Best reason against an upset: Minnesota has been getting away with murder all season long.

2) Jags over Chargers
Best reason for an upset: Jags are at home and on the upswing. Defense.
Best reason against an upset: Chargers also have been coming on strong.
This would be a very minor upset. Line is only 1.5 as of this morning.

3) Tampa Bay over Dallas.
Best reason for an upset: I hate the Cowboys.
Best reason against an upset: Cowboys have talent and are embarrassed of the way they played last weekend and in recent games.

Highest margin of destruction:

- Niners over Seahawks (Look, the Seahawks QB is a former NY Jets player. Do I need any other reason?)
- Bills over Dolphins (Fish got into a pissing match with the Jets and Patriots for biggest AFC East meltdown.)
- Bengals over Ravens (is Lamar playing?)

AR - when I was putting my upset list together I stumbled and pondered on the Ravens Bengals. Ill just say this - Cincinnati --be careful

Last night I took a look at the TCU vs Georgia score on the internet. I blinked several times. Third quarter and already Georgia up 52 - 7.

The final was 65 - 7. Really, they need to do a better job of seeding these teams. TCU did not “beat” Michigan. Michigan gave away the store.

Maybe the SEC needs to have its own separate national champion. They have top shelf players and coaches coming out of the woodwork.

Maybe I am too close to the Ravens to see what you see, but I've watched all the games. Teams that go far in the post season usually have one thing in common, they've gotten better as the season progressed and they've got momentum from winning more than losing in the last quarter of the season. Baltimore has neither. Their offensive production has been stagnant, their red zone game laughable (even before Lamar was hurt) and they have zero momentum. The defense has gotten better but it's not the offense paralyzing defense we had in 2012.

Boy, do I hope you are right but I just can't see it. I will be surprised if Lamar plays. Having not played for the last five weeks, I'm not sure it will make a difference.
