Congratulations to the Boston Celtics. Once the Stanley Cup is in the history books we can skip over the MLB and look forward to preseason. (Or you can watch Caitlyn Clark get her nightly beat down in the WNBA).

so, Doc - you're telling me that those Nick Bosa socks are less then 3 months away from coming back out of the sock drawer ?

Another great start, 1-0 Oilers after 6 minutes during Seppo's PP.

EDIT: End of 1st period, 1-0 to Oilers and a PP to start the 2nd Period.
EDIT AGAIN: Oilers score on the previously mentioned PP, just under 2 minutes into the 2nd Period, so 2-0 now.
EDIT YET AGAIN: Oilers 3-0 now, 15 mins. left in 2nd. Period.
Looks like another slaughter (if the previous game was a slaughter).

AND ANOTHER EDIT, THOUGH NOT A GOOD ONE: Seppos pull one back, so 3-1 with13 mins. left, 2nd Period.
AH, A BETTER EDIT (NO, CHANGE THAT AS I TYPE): Another PP goal for Oilers, 4-1, but Seppos strike back 14 seconds later, 4-2.

HMMM, EDIT 3RD PERIOD: Seppos score again, so 4-3, 16 minutes left.
PENULTIMATE EDIT: 2 minutes left: "They've pulled the goalie, and he's not happy!!" Poor chap.

ALL OVER: Seppos had an empty net coz they "pulled" their goalie (who wasn't happy with being pulled), and Oilers scored, so 5-3, and it's on to Edmonton for the next game to tie it up at 3-3.

THAT'S ALL FOLKS.

🏒

1942 Maple Leafs leave plucky Oilers a hard act to follow in Cup comeback bid

Their names are usually invoked only in playoff desperation.

Yet the perfect mix of Hall of Famers and hard workers who were the 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs are in the news again.

Maybe the Oilers can take a leaf from their book. Still, 82 years is a long time.
