Saw the last Rush tour with my son a few years ago (Clockwork Angels)... it is ABSOLUTELY worth the money. These guys are still incredible. Make sure your son brings ear plugs. My son (13 years old) enjoyed the last show so much, we're seeing them again on August 1st in L.A. (could be their last live show!!)

Just saw them on Saturday night in Denver. GREAT show. Does Geddy sound like he did in 1981? No. However, he does OK & musically they are still as tight as ever and the effects are great too. If you haven't peeked at the setlist, I won't spoil it for you, however don't get discouraged if the first set doesn't floor you - the second set will... :)

Not sure if I made a mistake(cost of tickets,$325) but I just purchased two tickets to see RUSH for this Friday July 17th at Rogers Arena in Vancouver BC.
Not sure why its taken me so long to go see them as this is my first time to see the Canadian power trio and I will be taking my son who has also never seen them.
I have never paid over a $100 for any concert so this is a first for me as back in the day when I was my son's age all the big bands cost between $10-$20 to see, now it seems big concerts all are in $100 plus range and even a few 100 dollars for some concerts.
Even with inflation the ticket prices these days are sometimes staggering.
The more I thought about that this might be one of last chances to see RUSH and the fact the tickets I got were floor tickets(row 30) right in front of the mixing station sold me on going for it.
Other thing was someone from here gave a very favorable review of seeing RUSH on this current tour, I can't remember who it was so will ask this general question.

Who from here has seen Rush on this present tour?

peter

I have, and I was the one who wrote the very favorable review on here!
It was my favorite RUSH concert dating all the way back to my first one in 2008!
Hope you enjoy it! :)

I didn't trust my memory as I was going to say it was Rtbluray, can you help me out, either send me private message what it was you said as I was curious to reread your comments about it or post link if you don't mind.
Rush should thankyou for me buying tickets yesterday :).

No problem.
Here's the link to my review: https://www.quadraphonicquad.com/forums/showthread.php?20639-RUSH-R40-Review-(*SPOILER-ALERT*)

Note: It is full of spoilers, and there are actually three different set lists with a few different songs that rotate between shows, so you might not get the exact same set I heard in New Orleans, but the main songs that make this show so special stay in the set from show to show.
Enjoy! :)

Thanks so much for this.
A few more hours from showtime(WOOHOO!!!!!!!!)

Just home from a show this evening - Colin Hay followed by Violent Femmes followed by Barenaked Ladies (no, not the good kind!).

Colin Hay came on right at 7pm to a smallish outdoor amphitheater just starting to have people enter and take their seats - I guess many either didn't know or had forgotten who he was/is. His set was only 30 minutes, solo acoustic...and while his onstage chatter was amusing I think he spent a little too much time with it - if he cut it down he might have been able to play an extra song instead of just the 5 or 6 he did. He was good though, and if he did his own show in a nice intimate place here (or in Santa Fe as he did a few years back and we were not able to go...) I'd not hesitate for a moment to grab tickets.

Short intermission and Violent Femmes came on. I didn't care for them back when they hit the scene and nothing they did changed my mind, and after 3 or 4 songs I just wanted them to go away and quickly....but they didn't.

I was born and raised in Toronto so you'd think I'd be a little up for a show headlined by a band from old home town...nope. Never cared for these guys either. I do have to give them so credit though - of of them came out to introduce the opening acts and others came out to help out on songs by both Colin Hay and Violent Femmes - I like to see the bands get on together and have fun like that. Mrs only wanted to see Hay and VF so it was an easy decision to just leave before the band we both didn't care for came on.

We've got tickets for John Fogerty at the same venue in a few weeks and that ought to be smoking' - great place for him to play and no surprise it sold out quickly...he probably would have come close to selling out the much bigger outdoor stage here.

Oh wow - not A BNL fan?? They were much better with Steven Page before they threw him to the curb for his drug use or he quit, depending on whose story ya get.

Snood love me some BNL...........got all their stuff, but the recent stuff has been meeeh, some ok stuff to not so ok.

They just not the same without Steven.

Fogerty should be awesome though!!!

While QQ was down, we saw/listened to:

Shania Twain - Allstate Arena (Rosemont Horizon) Rosemont, IL, Wednesday 7/29
Like soooo many shows, the audio was way too loud and clipped beyond belief. Good show, fantastic visuals, including fireworks going off and a crane she rode above the crowd during Up.

Kevin Hart - What Now? - United Center, Chicago, IL Thursday 7/30, early show
They announced one show. We got tix on the presale. It sold so fast that they added a later show last night, and another for tonight. If you haven't heard him, he's funnier than s&%t!!

Beautiful Days Festival next weekend, always an eclectic line-up of acts, its one of those festivals where you have to buy a ticket before the acts are announced or you won't get a ticket!

Idlewind, Wilko Johnson, Syd Arthur, Eddie Reader amongst the acts I want to see.

Looking Way ahead - Snood got his tickets to the Gary Clark Jr. Show in Feb of next year @ The House of Blues in Orlando - Downtown Disney

Tour doesn't start til October

Woooo hoooo - Great guitarist

Big Big Train tomorrow night in London. Really looking forward to this one :D.

From all the reports it looks like this was an exceptional show. I'm going to the Sunday matinee :) I've been a fan of BBT for a *very* long time and have done some photography for the band, so seeing them live at last is cause for much excitement!

You may not be aware that Greg is a fan of surround and has expressed an interest in some BBT 5.1 material on a number of occasions. I would love to hear something like "The Underfall Yard" in surround.

Last night's gig was excellent. Some band nerves (to be expected) and a couple of mistakes, but a nice venue and a superb choice of songs (y). I really enjoyed Dave Gregory's playing, on his vast collection of guitars! Very good audience reactions, a couple of over zealous hecklers aside!

I saw your name credited for photography in the programme!

The Underfall Yard, my favourite BBT album, would be amazing in surround.

I honestly had no idea they were using any of my photos in the programme! The PR shots I did for them were a few years back now, so that's a really nice surprise! :)

Last night I had the chance to finally experience the Aristocrats live in concert here in Nashville!
Due to a previous engagement right before that, I was late in getting to the show, missing the two opening acts, but thankfully I arrived right in the middle of their first song after 10pm.
The set was great with most of the material coming from their latest album, but they did dive back and play some other songs from their other studio albums.

A few other observations besides that:
As much as I love Marco Minnemann (and I love his drumming a LOT) his drum solo IMO was way too long and over-indulgent, but then again, that part of the evening was further spoiled by a drunk ***** yelling and making weird noises right by me as it was going on.
Finally, Bryan Beller joked that the show was basically like a writers' round at the Bluebird Cafe since they talked about each song before playing it, and that was incredibly enjoyable as their stories helped to conjure up a lot of images in my mind while they were playing.

So it was indeed a great, sold out show! Highly recommended for all of you Aristocrats fans out there! :)

What did you think of the Sunday show? I've seen nothing but good reviews of the 3 shows, and I think the setlist was the same for all 3. I see that there's a photo of yours from the Sunday show on the Big Big Train twitter site (y)

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeellllll I doubt anyone here is into the band "Better Than Ezra"

Snood really is..............Love Kevin Griffin (pretty much Better Than Ezra), he is also a prolific songwriter - writing hits for Taylor Swift, Barenaked ladies and a bunch of others

Well he is on a Solo acoustic tour and last I checked, the closest he was coming to Florida was - Atlanta, GA................So today get email from newish venue in town saying he coming to town in December.........It's a big new beautiful place in downtown Orlando called the Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts and it has a few auditoriums - Snood saw Elvis Costello in their Walt Disney Room about 3000 seats (very nice) - well this one is in an a room called the Alexis & Jim Pugh room - and get this - Only 295 seats WTF!!!????

So Snood is at work and goes ummmmm well me gets online - turns out tickets went on sale Thursday morning (today) 10am and it is about 1PM, but thing is nobody knows about it unless you are on mail list - it has not been reported in paper .............Usually Snood drags a buddy with me to any concerts.............but this time I accidentally put in 1 ticket request and it says first row (16 in a single row) was like huh?? So put in for 2 peeps and it is row J - Snood went hmmmm first row me, Row J with bud that not familiar with Better than Ezra.............Snood chose 1st Row and it and aisle seat. Total price 35 plus 4.20 (39.20) since me not have to go thru ticketmaster.

It not til December 11th and on a Friday night..............Snood stoked.

Only 295 people gonna be real nice!!!!!!

Annnnnnnnnnnyone here like Better Than Ezra??

I love BTE too Snood. Saw them several years ago in a theater here in Denver. Great show! Deluxe is one of those CDs that has absolutely no filler...

That a good one, but........

Snood more into the Friction, Baby & Closer Albums..............although "How Does Your Garden Grow?" was the title that accidentally got me into surround

Check out their newest CD - All Together Now - way better than their last 2 and right up there with their best
