As usual, I'm late to the party with this one. Like others here, I was determined NOT to spend all that dough for essentially the ONE disc in this set that interested me. But tonight I caved, for several excuses I mean reasons:

1. No idea why, but much cheaper from Amazon UK (thanks for the tip, everybody)
2. Discovered that I could log right in to Amazon UK without setting up a separate account (they don't miss a trick).
3. Will be making a bit of overtime this holiday season (Ho Ho Ho!).
4. This album is truly one of my dear old favorites.

Doesn't look like it'll arrive til next year, but that's OK. And what the hell, this might be a good excuse to get the turntable hooked up & running again; see if these kids today still know how to make a plastic waffle.*

*Props to any fellow geezers out there who know this reference.

*And for those who don't: Todd, trying to make a living

I think you'll be very happy with your purchase. The 5.1 mix is fantastic. And you should check out the included live CDs as well, some really great performances. (I haven't gotten around to listening to the outtakes discs yet so I can't comment on those.) Also, you might be surprised by how fast it arrives. Mine was 5 days from UK to Connecticut. You may have it in time for Xmas!

And I saw Todd last night! Great show. (Although he didn't play "Elpee's Worth of Tunes"!) The show was being filmed. Hopefully it will surface on DVD/Blu-Ray next year.

Last surround disc I'm still waiting for is Yes - Fragile CD/BluRay
Found it at a decent price for $32 Australian on eBay
Taking a long time to arrive

Just ordered this Japan SHM SACD...

I understand that it has channel assignment issues but I couldn't resist buying after being encouraged to consider it at a recent proggish Christmas party conversation:Screen shot 2015-12-22 at 7.42.07 PM.png Gentle Giant CD+DVD

Hey PU! (Can I call you PU? No? Okay then.) <ahem> Anyway, you were right! Last I checked, estimated delivery was sometime after The Day The Three Wise Men Finally Showed Up At The Manger Day (Jan. 6 I think?). But by god there it was waiting for me last night! Time to head on over to the poll and bloviate some.

I've been called much, much worse......usually by my boss :yikes

Glad you got it in enough time to enjoy during The Day The Three Wise Men Finally Showed Up At The Manger Day!

Private Uni - Was he still doing his techno dance rave concert or was he now playing the old stuff and hits?

Me too on the Allman Brothers Idlewild South from Zoverstock in the UK. Great price. Far better than available on amazon.com. I was debating between pulling the trigger on this or Tusk, but the best price I can find on Tusk is still over $80, so opted for this bargain instead. :)

You will be very happy with the Allman Brothers...it's a superb sounding disc..BUT...just for the record...you can still get Tusk on amazon UK for under $63(just checked and it was $62.69 including shipping)HERE..just put it in the cart and go to checkout to see the final price before buying..

Deep Purple's "Machine Head" (5.1 SACD from Warner Japan)
The Quad SACD was too expensive from the usual places, so I finally caved in and went with the 5.1 SACD from Warner Japan to complete their Pop/Rock Multichannel SACD series. :)

A few of the Quad SACDs here Ryan..

http://www.discogs.com/sell/release/1876617?ev=rb

starting at £25 (approx $40) cheaper than 'the going rate' on eBay etc but still not cheap by any stretch of the imagination.

Thanks, Adam. I had looked on Discogs, but the 5.1 SACD won this round cause I could get it new for less than $30 from a third-party amazon seller. One day, I'll get the Quad SACD too, but for right now, I'll take the extra 1.1 channels. ;)
