The Gloria Record/A Lull In Traffic - The Gloria Record (Silverline DVD-Audio),
#1 Limited Edition - Fischerspooner (CD + 5.1 DVD-V).

The Gloria Record's another Silverline dud. Sounds like a college band with their hands tied behind their back! Vocals particularly shoddy.. and Non-Surround Surround!

Dar Williams has another DVD-A afaik, "The Green World".

..Which I'm playing now and is also very good, though if think I prefer the more recent "Beauty Of The Rain" from songwriting, performance, musicianship, surround mix points of view (in other words, Green World's not bad at all but Beauty's much better in every way).

Too bad MFSL did Abraxas on gold CD. What were they thinking?

Anyway, Dusty is delayed again, now until Nov. 15th. Ridiculous! Too much demand for SACD pressing lately? Well, that is a good thing but how about setting up another plant, like maybe in the USA.

A lot of people probably missed the Al DiMeola Surround SACDs on Telarc. Avant garde music worth a listen.

I kept passing on these Telarc SACDs years ago when they were available in HMV etc and my musical horizons hadn't sufficiently broadened yet.. now some of them are a bit more expensive (incl one of the DiMeola's) which is a shame as they're mostly excellent! I do regret not getting them at the time but it's a case of better late than never I guess!

When I reviewed them for High Fidelity Review when they came out, I noted that the SACDs were avant garde but worth it. Good to see people rediscovering them. There are a lot of SACD gems in the Telarc and Concord Jazz catalog!

I've got Porcupine Trees Stupid Dreams coming. The CD/DVDA that The Burning Shed has back in stock. That leaves only Deadwing to get a hold of sometime until they get any of the other old stuff available...

Deadwing has been re-released in Japan as an HQ CD + DVD-Audio set.

Its not cheap with importing from Far East etc but still works out cheaper than the old DTS/Lava release regularly sells for nowadays.

Thanks, this is my next buy. Just going broke right now hunting down 5:1 recordings courtesy of finally having a a player (Oppo 103) capable of making my system shine.

David Elias - Crossing - SACD - Thanks Dr. Simple!!
