Neat pic, thanks for sharing! Oh NOOOO.. you sold Thriller too!? :yikes
Yes, I too have a number of those Sony SACDs that I'm pretty sure never came with any slipcase (or at least didn't when I bought them all new/sealed) including..
..the 2 John Mayer's,
3 of the Hybrid James Taylor's,
the Zorro & Titanic soundtracks,
Beyonce's Dangerously In Love,
Bowie's Reality (EU version),
Incubus' A Crow Left Of The Murder,
James Carter's Gardenias For Lady Day,
David Sanchez' Coral,
Switchfoot's The Beautiful Letdown,
The Thorns..
..none of which came with any slipcase and were all brand new & almost all of them sealed or with the white plastic printed security label strip intact across the top of the case. Pretty sure all of them are Hybrids too.
The only anomalous one I can think of that came new without any slipcase was Jeff Beck (non-Hybrid MultiCh) which I think must have been a later Euro repressing (is that a possibility?) as it doesn't even have the black/blue dotted SACD livery on the left front of the case inlay graphics as was common on the Euro SACDs where the USA releases commonly had plastic gold or white/grey slipcases in regular looking CD cases with dark fret plastic inlays, save for the embossed SACD logo moulded into the plastic disc hub holder where redbook would just have the Compact Disc logo (so cute and such a nice little detail, imho).
Pretty sure Duran Duran is the only Sony SACD on my "must have" list now (I only have the DualDisc) there are others but mostly stereo or not of much interest, of course I missed the boat on Duran Duran, its a seriously expensive disc now (I didn't really want it when I could still afford it! Doh!) I presume its that rare/sought after combination at work again like so many of these discs driving up the prices so..!?
