as in not good!? the surround mix isn't up to much! faint double stereo & ambience in the rears from what I can gather, though I need to play it through again before I totally write it off
Yep, but as you like...the bottle is half full of sound .
I know....
But when you have 8 screaming kids from front, behind, left and right side a whole week,
then you wish yourself a mono recording.
I love those paper slipcases!

Good to know I'm not the only SACD slipcase obsessive! I love the plastic cases too.. I retook a pic just now of some of my lovely card sleeve discs and dotted around a selection of as many plastic slips as I could fit on my little coffee table
I actually sold off my paper slipcased Meat Loaf SACD....can you believe that? There was a time when I had both the paper slipcase and the plastic slipcase versions for certain titles....like Gloria Estafan's "Greatest Hits". I ended up selling off the plastic slipcase version. I believe the only title I have that has both paper and plastic slipcase versions is Toto IV.
Oh no! the stereo Bat Out Of Hell!? Why did you sell it? I couldn't part with any of those lovely paper slipcases, I feel exactly the same way as you, they're a part of the package as much as anything.
Unfortunately some of the SACDs I bought from new were of that period where Sony Europe had stopped producing slipcases altogether just before the axe fell (my Jeff Beck Blow By Blow MultiCh I got in HMV for example came without any slipcase at all, it feels naked without one! LOVE the contents though! Woo-eee!!)
