May I ask.....how much?

There is/was one on e-bay recently for $499 but I ain't going anywhere near that high.
I actually met the seller, nice guy. He paid quite a bit for it, hence the asking price now.

Of course! £96 (and it is in superb condition, you'd have to really scrutinize the whole package to see that it wasn't brand new. incidentally I got it from someone I've bought a fair few great hard to find SACDs from before, one of the most wonderful, trusted people in the whole SACD collecting world that I've encountered to date, some of you guys will know of them, I don't want to name name's on the forum but I'm immensely grateful to them that I finally have this disc - at last).

Well, there are 4 Lovebox SACDs up on eBay right now that I can see, 3 Buy It Now's and 1 auction in progress
(I'd always maintained it was "common" for a so-called rare SACD but that didn't stop it being damned hard for me to get)
one for £239.00, another for £246.00, another for £308.00 and the auction is currently at £41.99 with 22 bids in and with 1d 0h to go until it finishes.

There is also one, used, on Amazon UK at the moment, for £299.99.

Its not Scorpions crazy to get but it's getting up there... so now I've got my hot little hands on Lovebox, E.Power Biggs, Ship Ahoy, Isley 3+3, Cardigans, E.T., Texas, Matt Bianco, Keane, Meat Loaf M/C, Keb Mo' M/C, Thriller, Boston, Toys in the Attic, Toto IV M/C, all the Bowie SACDs, Avalon/both Bryan Ferry's, Frankie GTH, PG's UP, Dolly Parton/Little Sparrow, Slovo/Nommo, Thomilla/Freeze, Alison Krauss:New Favorite (among others I can't recall) I've got almost all the SACDs I ever dreamed of getting, it's just The Scorpions and Gotan Project to go and the rest (400+ SACDs on Wishlist at min.) is all delicious gravy!

Yes Close to the Edge and Yes Fragile came the same day in the mail. I am a happy camper. I would love to see The Yes Album mixed by SW. Keeping my fingers crossed for that one!

The other Lovebox on Buy It Now is.. $999.99...!!! :yikes

However, one just sold in the last few minutes on eBay for £78.

Although the seller didn't ship Internationally outside of the UK.. and more importantly its a relisted item, apparently the last time round the winning bidder wasn't very happy with the condition and that sale fell thru..

With all due respect, anyone that agreed to pay $999.99 for a single SACD, no matter how rare, would need their head seeing to, surely?

I just found a DVD-A copy of Beck's 'Sea Change' on eBay where the seller is hoping to realise £99.99. In the face of the recent Blu Ray, that premium of £85 only gets you some music videos over and above the HFPA content.

The world's gone mad, mad I tells ya! :yikes

Its totally bonkers! :ugham:

I've bought other (cheaper) stuff off the 'bloke' who's selling that Beck DVD-A and it's all been great.. but he's got a bit, shall we say greedy/optimistic recently..

With this Beck Blu-ray on the market it would appear I hung onto my spare SACD and DVD-A copies a bit too long.

New Acquisitions, all on DVD-A from e-Bay:

Blue Oyster Cult - A Long Day's Night
Robert Cray - Time Will Tell (I may still try and find the DualDisc version too)
Richard Thompson - Rumor and Sigh :woopie

The latter for under $50 sealed, I've been trying for ages to find a copy and have lost many auctions for used copies at a higher price than I paid now.

I think your spare copies are safe :) There will always be collectors for these SACDs & DVDAs I reckon, despite any reissues on BDA (and all the file-sharing and illegal downloads).

ah! the Robert Cray is supposed to be a Silverline keeper! There were two over the weekend including the one you won but the other was listed as "Robert Gray" so I only found it after they both ended..!!

congrats on the Richard Thompson (great disc) I had a similar experience, I was always getting outbid and then finally got lucky only very recently! that is a great price new and sealed at this time, great job! it's worth the aggro though isn't it! I wonder whether Richard Thompson is aware of the ongoing demand for this disc to this day? Time to reissue it on BDA? :)

Could be, I didn't check to be honest. why, did you win one of their eBay auctions as well?

I reckon we did. He's got quite a few titles for sale and I noticed Electric Warrior as well as the Queen disc and considered a sneaky bid ;) Happy that I got "The Game" though :)

I'll be 100% upfront, I was prepared to go quite some way to get the T-Rex as it was the last Warner DVD-A I really wanted (I've already got the Universal Hybrid SACD).. there are several other Warner DVD-A's (Sasha Livebeats, one of the Mana's-I forget which one now, the Loony Tunes sound FX one, a couple of the Seal CD/DVD-A sets) but really nothing on Warner DVD-A i'm fussed about, I can happily live without that lot.

you got The Game for a good price, I forked out £23.99, which I thought was daylight robbery at the time but I had to get it and the easiest way was on import in HMV, they really used to ramp up their import surround/Hi-Rez back when it first came out.. was that really 10 years ago? time flies..!

I paid more than I intended for the Cray but because the seller is local (the same guy selling the Lovebox listed a couple of posts ago) I was able to pick up in person thereby avoiding waiting and paying for shipping.

Dude, I'm more than happy for you to have gotten that :) I wasn't prepared to go above the starting price for any of this guy's titles. He may have been more successful starting them off at lower prices. I got "The Game" unchallenged. He's re-listed many that didn't sell and reduced the price on some. I was sorely tempted by his copy of Simple Minds "New Gold Dream" but the news I received yesterday that my car needs £800 of work doing has put paid to any "silly money" purchases for the next few months :(

What kind of car is that?
