Sympathy For The Devil - Rolling Stones SACD.

A bargain at about £4 inc. postage from the USA, just for the original unadulterated version in 5.1 (the rest are so so). Who mixed it? and why have we seen no-more Stones in 5.1?

Rendezvous In New York - Chick Corea (Hybrid MultiCh SACD 2-disc set).

As I won't have a chance to play it for a while (and I'm a curious lil' bugger) is it the "usual" Live mix or more discrete..?

I remember it being pretty good for a live mix. Not fully discrete but some effective separation, particularly for the duets. Great sound and performances! I'm gonna have to dig this out again soon.

How many multi-channel discs have you got left to get then Adam?

- You should write a book and grade them in the much the same vein as Martin Strong's Great Rock Discography :)

Oh crikey... Good Qn.. Bloody LOADS! Over 400 M/C SACDs alone still to get before my sa-cd.net wishlist is anywhere near the "end" (and more still if AF keep up the good work!).. not so many DVD-A's/DualDiscs I'm aware of that I actively want, quite a few DTS CDs still to track down, though there are probably quite a lot of DVD-A's/DualD's etc that I don't know of and/or don't want today that I may want tomorrow!

Bah.. to paraphrase Macca (in The Girl Is Mine) "I'm a music lover not a writer"! :p

Clapton - 461 and Slowhand. Didn't realise they were still available at a sensible price. Will be interesting to compare 461 mix to the Scheiner mix on Give Me Strength box set.

Concerto For Group And Orchestra - Deep Purple (DVD-A)

Finally i bought this one.
Before i upgraded my equipment i felt that the DVD was enough for me.
I wouldn't say that this is an perfect surround disc but it is much better than any verson i have heard before.
Now i can really enjoy it.

Motörhead - Overkill DVDA

I ordered it over a month ago and it finally arrived. Phew... I was getting worried.

This Silverline release is not bad, but... not great either. The surround mix sounds like a 2-ch stereo mix. The rear AND CENTER channels basically only provide ambience. Not a very imaginative surround mix, but the sound quality is pretty good. So, I'd still recommend tracking down a copy at a reasonable price.

As for the music... Definitely a Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Classic. What a blast!

Is it better than the DTS CD? I was under the impression that it is the same mix...

Can I get back to you on that? :)

(Only, I'm on my deathbed at the moment.. only man flu, I'm being a bit of a drama queen.. but music listening low on the agenda, I have a raging bloody headache, I think/hope due to blocked E,N,T from this cold/flu thing.. it's proper getting on my thrupenny bits..!!)
