I thought the others suggesting Crime knew something that I didn't know about the recording. Fool me...lolLots of great suggestions here - thank you! Much as I would adore to have a go at Crime of the Century, I did not record or mix anything on it - but I am hoping that Ken Scott might be having a go at it!! I have suggested several of those mentioned to various artists, and haven't had much of a response, but I am hoping that a couple mentioned might actually come to life - we shall have to wait and see...
I've always said Crime is one of the most influential albums for me - I did however make tea for some of the mix sessions during my first days at Trident!!! SWTxI thought the others suggesting Crime knew something that I didn't know about the recording. Fool me...lol
It’s time to go to the Supertramp decision makers and say “Remember that tea I made for you? You owe me a favor.”I've always said Crime is one of the most influential albums for me - I did however make tea for some of the mix sessions during my first days at Trident!!! SWTx
Making tea was the most important thing during those sessions so that's more than enough credentials for me.I've always said Crime is one of the most influential albums for me - I did however make tea for some of the mix sessions during my first days at Trident!!! SWTx
You're right on the money in that the 1st UK release (which is an absolute classic) would be so great in MCH! I'm ashamed that at my age it took me until just recently to finally listen to it. It has a great reputation, and deservedly so.Both Saga albums, The Fixx-Reach the Beach, UK (Jobson's mix doesn't do it justice), Tull, Rush, Chris de Burgh-The Getaway, Ostinato would sound awesome in surround....
I’d be in for Better Off Dead in a heartbeat! I’ve loved the movie for decades and was delighted to pick up the Blu-ray; I have a big soft spot for the beautiful Arrested By You.The Waterboys! 1st album, A Girl Called Johnny EP, & A Pagan Place
Honeymoon Suite - 1st album & Big Prize
Saga
Fixx
Rush
And one that only I would buy...
The Better Off Dead Soundtrack
Another vote for Better Off Dead.I’d be in for Better Off Dead in a heartbeat! I’ve loved the movie for decades and was delighted to pick up the Blu-ray; I have a big soft spot for the beautiful Arrested By You.
Stephen, it would be a 'Crime', not to wish you a very happy birthday .
I wonder what mixing delights you are currently working on?
Have a fantastic day.
Caravan's first album is a classic just suited for surround. The Canterbury sound . . . but who knows, it was probably 4 track, it's old. LAND OF PINK AND GREY, however, already in 5.1, would be more likely (and just as welcome). As prog sounds so right in surround, Caravan would be my favourite. Following on, Les Negresses Vertes, never heard of them but intuitively sounds good and then Suzanne Vega, her music would really benefit for a bit of surround air. Thank you!
Since the air is rather thin atop Mount ATMOS, Dunc....you are forgiven!I have committed the crime of the century , a day late, Happy Birthday Stephen
