Yes, I wanted to ask you since I am waiting for Alice & JS, no tracking numbers on your last package that arrived in the mailbox? Did the last one come in one package or two? Thanks.
Still being sent partial orders on my end. Some others have received all four in a pack as ordered. So my experience is not necessarily what every other person has experienced.

i have received only the order confirmation after placing it, nothing else since. the money from my account was deducted that day.
I've received my Black Sabbath, but no word on the other discs I ordered; no notification of shipment; no tracking numbers; and no response to my email other than a standard form letter.
I don't think I'm wrong to say Rhino's customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

One bit of information that might be helpful for folks; When you get tracking numbers and don’t have the carrier info, try the tracking numbers with Google. Sometimes this gets you the shipper and where to track the package.

If this doesn’t work, then I’ll go down the list of shipping in my area and try the numbers on their website.

Hi

I am based in UK -- I want to buy this...does anyone know of a UK or even European seller I can buy this blu ray.

Thank you

Mod Note: Moved here from the Alice Cooper Poll.

Yes. You can get it in the UK at the Dig! Store. You preorder now, and it ships from them August 4.

They also have Jefferson Starship “Red Octopus.” No Sabbath or Geiles through Dig! Store. But you can get Sabbath (when it becomes available again) and J. Geils from Rhino’s U.S. store.

I am just getting around to listening to my discs. Yes they were in 2 shipments, yes one of them sat in Fontana. No I didn't mind(or care for that matter) that they were only exclusives on Rhino.com.

Rhino offered us some products that we might not have had a chance at getting any other way. Sure they were Rhino exclusive, and I don't think that $25 a piece was a bad deal, but Rhino did take $5 of each title when ordered as a bundle. I'd rather invest in the program going forward, so sure- I'll take all 4.

Sure- some have had some teething issues in ordering, confirmation and shipment, but I think the message has been heard- lets not kill the goose! If you want them- order them. If you don't feel you are getting value- then don't order them.

Now- on with the Music!

I have a technical question for anyone here-
First off- I do have other Blu-ray discs, as well as many DVD-A, SACD, and other surround releases.
My playback is through a Denon DVD-758 DVD-A/SACD player, or a Sony BDP-S780 Blu-Ray/SACD player through a Yamaha RX-A1030 receiver.

On Black Sabbath, J Geils, and Starship- I have noted that when Master Surround(from blu-ray title menu) is selected, my receiver shows only stereo playback(and only my front 2 speakers are active). When I have Master Stereo selected from each Blu-Ray title menu- it is then that my receiver reports it is in Surround mode(and it plays as such). Was the menu authoring backwards? Does anyone else see this?

On B$B-yes the menu authoring is completely different than the other 3 titles. However- I cannot get any Surround playback on this title at all. Regardless of whether I select Stereo or Surround titles- all I am getting is stereo? Has anyone else seen this behavior?

Thank you-
Chris

It's a shame and a bit of a mystery why so many people have had a poor shipping experience with these Rhino quadio titles. I received my copy of Paranoid (the only title I purchased) rather quickly, was sent a tracking number which I used, and the disc arrived in perfect condition in a very sturdy little box. I suspect the majority of folks have had at least an OK shipping experience. While I too would prefer to have a choice of different sellers, potentially with some price competition, based on this experience I will have no trouble ordering again from Rhino for any title I'm interested in.

I'm not so convinced that it is "many people"...but a very VOCAL minority can sometimes give the impression that it is a major problem.

My two shipments were transfered from UPS to USPS and they departed LA at the same time and are in transit to Spain. Tracking number changed as stated on UPS shipment details.
They also appear on Correos (Spanish public postal service) website and tracking app.
They also appear on adtpostales, the website where you can and have to pay VAT using a VISA as I have done several times, for example for SDE's bluray audios. Hopefully, fees would only be about 2€ per shipment, plus VAT.

I am convinced that had there been a pre-order window, 99% of all issues could have been avoided. They would have been able to print labels and package over a few weeks, had time to send out notices, and sent all orders at the same to the post office.

Anyone want to bet that the next batch will have pre-order window?

So if you are upset with Rhino realize that the only thing they did wrong was try to get them to us ASAP.

Or maybe, it's just regular people - with no organized or nefarious agenda - who spent what amounts to two months worth of disposable income (to support what they see as a worthy endeavor, ordered within 48 hours of title announcement, and haven't received a single disc in the mail yet and haven't had any communication from the site they purchased from, aside from a solicitation to buy some Black Sabbath vinyl box set, and they just legitimately want to express their frustration or disappointment and resent being painted as troublemakers for doing so. Just another hypothetical possibility to consider..

Keep up the great work! We are all behind you:)

Maybe someone else can chime in here but I remember people had issues playing the straight 4.0 over HDMI on the Doobies Quadio set and maybe it’s the same issue here.

This is why many quad reissues tend to author the disc as 5.0 with an empty center channel because some decoders have no idea what to do with a 4.0 stream. Just a thought.
