Just received an order cancellation notice for B$B what the hell! Ordered these at 2 AM on release day! Sabbath showed up today.
Sorry for the pun, but I already got Paranoid and Nightmares. Now I'm getting depressed. Paranoid is fantastic, but B$B was going to be the crown jewel for me. After following this thread for 2 1/2 months and staying up until 1 AM to order the day of, I'll be EXTEREMELY disappointed if my last 2 don't come through. No word or help from Rhino yet. Doesn't first come, first served MEAN something?

I couldn't put the 3 of them on the listen to mountain, so had a single listen to Billion Dollar Babies & Red Octopus, both sound great. In terms of original recording 'quality' I'd say B$B is slightly better than Red Octopus even though it was recorded a few years earlier (B$B is '73 so 50 years ago!!, Red Octopus is a sprightly 48 years old!), and I love the B$B mix, plenty of 70s panning. Alice did sound off key in a couple of places to me! Starship with Papa John Creech's violin was fantastic, a nice surrounded by the music mix, lots going on in the surrounds.

Didn't Papa John Creech do a couple of Quad albums?

I'll try and listen to the J. Geils tomorrow, I have never heard the album before in either stereo or Quad, wondering if I'll recognise a track or two as they would have been played on a few of the radio programmes back then.

So still waiting on Sabbath's Paranoid .............and whether I'll get stung for tax and the gathering fee!

I finally got a direct response from Rhino. This had a few twists that actually happened as I was writing this post which was much longer. In the end, I decided to delete everything I wrote so I could be as fair as possible to Rhino with the latest exchange we had mere moments ago.

I was finally told there was an issue with my order where B$B and Red Octopus were mistakenly not sent as part of my bundle.

The conversation ended with a refund for the two titles. The gal I spoke with (via e-mail) apologized for some mistaken info she told me in an earlier e-mail, mainly about the two titles being pre-orders. I told her I accepted the apology and thanked her for the refund.

I’ll be honest... I was really annoyed with the mistaken info I was given. It was just a final straw in this experience. I knew what I was being told was wrong. But to her credit, she looked into it and apologized for the mistaken info she had given me. I can’t ask for more than that.

So in the end, I own Sabbath and J Geils.

Got a specific email address for us, @Blackwood, or did this all happen via help@wmgcustomerservice? (I think quite a few of us may be in a similar position to yours.)

Not exactly. The e-mail address has embedded in it a code from the ticket that was created when I first sent something in over a week ago via the website. You won’t get the ticket unless you go through the Rhino support page.

The format is - [email protected] - with the x’s being your ticket number.

But that’s probably pretty useless unless you already have a ticket which means you’d just as easily respond to the e-mail they sent you after the ticket was started.

Wish I had a more specific address for people. I know how frustrating this has been. It just took patience for them to get to my ticket and then thankfully the person who responded was willing to engage in some back & forth today to settle this.
