no, i haven't. many of the A&M Quad mastertapes are said to be missing presumed gone forever anyway so not sure if anybody in any capacity would have the opportunity to hear the original Quad tapes now, sadly.
Excuse my ignorance but how were those original Quads created?
Were they mixed from stems of the original studio recordings?
Were they lost in the fire that get's mentioned so often?

there isn't a great deal of solid info and i don't want us to derail the Rhino Quadio convo but briefly, the early A&M Quads are a bone of contention, several have been described as "barely Quad" (e.g. Joe Cocker, Herb Alpert) and a few have been deemed some kind of crude upmix of the time (method of upmixing unknown).

sometime around 1972/'73 (Billy Preston's Q8 only "Music Is My Life" Quad feels like a watershed) the label's Quad mix philosophy changed somewhat and they became more akin to the kind of Quad mix we're used to from ABC, Columbia, RCA, Warner, etc.

the infamous fire has been cited as one reason some of the tapes may be missing, although in all honesty it was rumoured some of the A&M tapes might have been missing sometime before the fire.

a ray of hope that some A&M masters may just have survived was when Universal somehow unearthed the SQ-encoded Quad of Quincy Jones' "Body Heat" from
somewhere and used it (i would suggest erroneously but fortuitously for us!) for the HDTracks & iTunes downloads and it sounds great.. so perhaps all is not lost in that regard.

Well the Best of Aretha Franklin on a Quadio release was 13 years ago. And since then have been very few releases. This is only forgiven by the fact that two of the releases were big box sets of exceptional quality material and mixes.

So four coming out soon and another four are currently being worked on is sweet news. Time is just racing so fast now.

We should take a pause and think of the quad fans and enthusiasts who are no longer around to enjoy the late releases we’ve been fortunate enough to obtain. It has been a long ride to get where we are.
Good point…the target demo for these releases is probably dwindling each year…hurry up Rhino! 🦏

Fred, Doc said to lay off the caffeine and calories. :(

How about a remastered quad release of Humble Pie - Smokin.
The Q8 was done but nothing else, the mix reportedly hit and miss.
I've never heard it but,
I'd love to crank Hot&Nasty and 30 Days in the Hole !!!
Yeah, I cranked up the Smokin’ Q8 once, just once; pictures started falling, things vibrated off furniture; it was awful!

How about a massive ZZ Top box set, First 6 lps up to Deguello?
I'm in like Flynn, hell single releases would be oh so fine as well!
Talk about an iconic American band that needs more surround
My Tres Hombres DVD-A reel dub needs some modern company!

If I'm correct in that the Rhino Quadio series is only about a new digital format release of an old Quad album, then the only one that would be Quadio'd would be 'Tres Hombres'; because I'm not aware that any others of the ZZ varietah were ever mixed to Quad.

I too would love to see ZZ Top’s “Tres Hombres” Quad get a new release. I used to have the Q8 and played it often.

I also bought their 10 CD box (2013) with all their classic albums with the original stereo mixes reasonably priced under $40 bucks.

Hmmm…all the more reason that could be one of the individual titles? 🤔

Released in 1973, it is an anniversary this year…
Hey, it's not like I wouldn't absolutely lose my mind over that one; I was massively influenced by The Reverend Billy G. back in the day.

He had his 'Pearly Gates' Les Paul; and I got my 'Gates Of Hell' 1974 Les Paul Standard to play with - so yeah, let's have it!!!
