Beatles to release expanded "Red" and "Blue" compilations in Dolby Atmos, including brand new song "Now and Then"

Why do you think the vinyl edition may not have the crossfade?
Personally, I would LOVE to hear the intro without the trailing sound of a jet engine.

According to the track listing on The Beatles site, the two tracks will be on separate discs!

Personally, I love Paul’s Esher Demo on the White Album Deluxe Set. It’s a whole step lower than the original recording and it’s got these really cool double tracked vocals!

With all the stuff that’s getting new Atmos mixes on these new Red and Blue comps, it sure seems like it’s laying the groundwork for the whole discography to get the Giles Martin Atmos treatment

Agreed, but I worry that I (and others) will be underwhelmed by the mixes. The streaming “1” album Atmos mixes suck, even for the post-1966 tracks. For “1”, Giles did not reuse existing (better) Atmos mixes.

Seems like there will be some Atmos tracks reused for Red and Blue, unless I misread the announcement details.

Weird that they have different running orders for the LP and CD.

Also weird that the CDs seem to follow chronologically, but they flipped the order of Glass Onion and Ob-La-Di and put While My Guitar up earlier.

Why not run them in the same order as the White Album?

Oh well. I doubt I'll be buying any of them. Maybe if the new mixes of the early tracks are really something special, but I suspect they probably won't be.

Very true. And yeah I think I read somewhere that the existing mixes will be used for those tracks. That being said stuff like Magical Mystery Tour and White Album getting Atmos mixes is new and lowers the amount of tracks that need to be done for a full album mix

It looks like they will use the already remixed versions for all the stuff that was already remixed for the deluxe editions but won't be bothering with the "1" versions.

It looks like everything pre-1966 will be getting new mixes.

Is the LP boxed-set anything more than just a cardboard sleeve to join the two sets together?

Not sure whether I find it more strange that they didn't do one for the CDs, or that they'd bother with one for LPs in the first place.

Thanks... I just found the CD boxed-set on the UK Beatles Store. Sadly it's only available as a limited edition and it's sold out
