It appears the box cover is incorrect in regard to the out-takes on blu-ray disc 1.
There is no option to listen to them in 5.1 that I can find.

Maybe somebody smarter than me can coach me up about what I'm doing wrong.
Otherwise, chalk it up to a mis-print or authoring error?

I’m sitting in a pub in San Mateo. I have been an audiophile for a long time and a surround sound guy for 6 years. I have never seen so much attention going to the surround hobbyists as this release. Sometimes I find it funny that on a Internet forum such as this, I hear, we want, we want, and then it comes and there is so much talk about what is not right. Sometimes I get the feeling that people think that if they say anything negative it makes them a real audiophile, I don’t think so . In most cases stereo is better than mono, surround better than stereo and really good surround better than not so good surround. I’m still waiting for my copy to come from CDJAPAN but I know I am gonna love all the stuff that is only for a surround guy like me.

Gonna be a beeeeeeeetch to rip and meta o_O
No need to worry Snood. You have from now until November 9th when the White Album and Electric Ladyland arrive. You have to admit, it’s a nice problem to have!

Oh man, the Raw Studio Mixes are outstanding! Fully discrete, immersive and very dry. You're in the center of the band. Sounds warm and wonderful!!!
I agree - the Raw Studio Mixes are super great......I doubt I'll much listen to the regular blu-ray with the 5.1. Blu-ray 2 is where it's at. :)

BTW, Monday is Columbus Day in the states so I don't think there will be any deliveries.

They all laughed at Christopher Columbus -when he said the world was round... Mine’s been put back to Tuesday but I’m hoping the delay might be because they’re including the big book! Anyway I know this is a great album and a great mix... All good things come to those who wait

I keep hitting a snag trying to rip blu 2. It crashes on song 2....every...single...time.....says there is an invalid character....which there isn't. AT least, not visibly. Trying MakeMKV now...which I don't prefer because it takes a LOT Longer and I'm not as good using it.

Great treatise, Markie. I have a feeling those SHM~CDs are going to be sitting alone in their big box while you dissect those two tantalizing 5.1 BD~As! Just a HUNCH.

And have a jack 'n brewski on me at that pub in San Mateo. Do they take bitcoin?

Marpow, like me you're not a refugee of the Quad era where everything came from everywhere.
I've been into surround since 2003 so I don't back to the depths of time, 1969-70 Quad vinyl & tape.
Either too much is coming "from the rears" or "only ambient sounds".
I may be mistaken but this the QQ forum and many haven't quite let go of the Quad Sound dogma and accepted that basic 5.1 is a different animal and superior to the limitations of Quad.
What is unprecedented about Imagine is that they lay out EXACTLY what is in each channel.
Like or not, you know exactly what you're getting in the mix.
I for one, love it.
Sincerely, I'm not anti-Quad.
I appreciate in hindsight that it was an attempt at something better than stereo.
I've enjoyed many Quad versions.
But imo, it's time has long passed.
