Not a dumb question at all...yes it's the same thing...just different marketing by companies.. I thought it was a typo when I saw it
Thank you, Clint. Just another one of those things that make our hobby so confusing to the uninitiated.

I would "plunk" down a pre order now...you have plenty of time to do the research before it's released...you can cancel anytime..
Glad I ordered yesterday.Amazon UK price just jumped to £80.99
https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&qOK, I bit and did the preorder thing, just in case this turns out to be the deal of the year. But for the life of me I cant figure out how much its actually going to cost me in US dollars. Anyone know the approximate value of £51.49 in US currency?
This is a very desirable release for me. It ranks right up there with a Beatles release because I think the album is THAT good. But its the promise of a new 5.1 mix makes me even consider it as I wouldn't be considering it if the only surround was the original QuadraSONIC mix. Still, even with the new 5.1, I'd want to get a few reviews from someone who has heard it before buying (which you can't do with a pre-order). The memories of the 1+ and Pepper let-downs are still a bit too fresh. Maybe Yoko's crew can do a better job with a vintage mix than Giles and company can. Of course, they have the additional difficulties of having to deal with the fingerprints of Phil Spector on the recorded material as well. None of it makes be feel very comfortable, but ill remain optimistic.

I wonder what the Easter Eggs will be?Damn, there are so many 5.1 mixes here... I can't wait!!!
"The 5.1’s are no doubt unconventional in that they place the listener smack dab in the middle of the room, surrounded by the musicians where the tracking is taking place, rather than the semicircle amphitheater mode, with the players spread out in front and the ambience generally placed to the side and behind the listener. A wonderful unintended consequence that we found midway through the mixing process is that, in addition to sitting still, another way to listen is to walk around and tune in to the individual instruments. "
This sounds very promising!!!
