Looks like U.S. MSRP for the set is $89.99 so yesterday’s Amazon UK price was not that much of a deal as originally suspected.

You can get a bonus poster by ordering from UMe:

It might not end up being a dramatic price decrease for those of us in the US but it will be a good deal for those in the UK who won't be forced into buying from a US outlet..

I wish I liked the content....but between some of the songs and the Yoko Koo Koo involvement:(.. it's just too much to overcome at this point..it looks like they did this package the right way...good thing there are some blockbuster releases heading our way...hope it works out for you:cool:

Out of curiosity, is there any Lennon solo content you would like more? This album and the previous album (Plastic Ono Band) are generally considered to be the best of the Lennon solo material, and Imagine is by far the best seller. I doubt POB would be a good candidate for a surround release just due to the instrumental sparseness.

With regard to Yoko's involvement, I'm not a fan of the woman either, but she is 25% involved in all the Beatles reissues as well, right? So she will profit off of all that as well.

When I get a chance I'll answer you in a PM...I don't want to drag this thread down and ruin this release for those that like the content:cool:

Walls and Bridges Quad mix...yes please!

Not sure if this has been posted before but this seems to be the list of all the variations available:

I've reluctantly ordered the "Complete Fan Version" on Blu-ray as it seems to be reasonably priced despite including the vinyl. Like others, I'm surprised at the prices on these sets (or maybe I'm just adjusting to the price expectations of these type of sets). ;)

I'm a bit confused over the book included in the bundles as I already had a pre-order in at Amazon UK for the standard version of the stand-alone book also being issued in October. Amazon UK is listing it as 320 pages (although I'm always wary of Amazon's descriptions) but the "bundled" version is 120 pages according to Matt over at MusicTap:

Confusion reigns.

I’m in no way a fan of this album. I only like a few songs. Oh Yoko! is probably my favorite song, followed by, Jealous Guy. With that said, I just preordered it off Amazon UK (missed the low price from yesterday) because of all the content that will be included in Surround. Will I change my mind sometime before the release date? Maybe? My plan is to play this album a lot so I get it fused into my head. o_O

I need to listen to the other Lennon albums but for now, I’d love a box set of Double Fantasy/Milk and Honey. I never cared for Yoko’s contributions in the past, especially the singing, but she sounds great to me now on these two records. It’s funny how my tastes have changed over the past 15 years. I’m listening to a lot of stuff now that I never used to like.

You can cancel that order from the UK since you paid the higher price....Bullmoose is $79.97...and importcds will probably be cheaper...and amazon US isn't posted yet...

I quite admire Yoko she took a lot of stick for the break up of the The Beatles the vast majority unwarranted. Musically she has ploughed her own furrow and has often been ahead of the game, always willing to experiment. She also has a solo album comming out which from what I have heard so far is much better than should be expected from anyone of her age. Looking forward to both.
