Sorry to go off topic, but yes. The two Firesign Theatre quad albums are excellent!

Thanks for the info. I couldn't get into the Firesign Theater DVD-A, were they better/different/funnier in the Quad days?

Day and night difference; the early albums are classic gems. Ironically the albums after Boom Dot Bust (Give Me Immortality or Give Me Death, Bride of Firesign were much stronger and a return to form. Just wrong timing for DVDA.

Has anybody else received their box?
Can we dare guess that ELP - Trilogy in 5.1 is just a matter of time?
I have to admit that I only ordered the 3 disc set of this one, which gives me all I need and doesn't create a storage problem . I'm really disappointed and confused as to why the smaller set is delayed whereas the super duper deluxe set wasn't. I'm really looking forward to this and Trilogy (by the end of the year please). That big Brain Salad box looks gorgeous, I'm jealous.
Digital downloads are for 14 year old spoiled brat iPad users(Crikey! That last comment should really get 'em goin.)
There you are Laddie! I thought you ran off to Paris to live life as a Pastry Chef. @: With that splendid tunnel you English lot have it must be so easy to zip into France and remind them how it was you Brits who actually stood up to those pesky Germans in the late 1930's and didn't run & hide under the floorboards.
Right! About the box: Couldn't you have asked your wife, girlfriend or mum to spot you a few extra pounds to get the box? I'm not big on buying LP records anymore but I must have the BSS vynyl. It has the die cut front, yes? LP records may not sound so good but they do have that wonderful smell!
Sony clearly delayed the cheaper edition so die-hard BSS fans must cough up the extra dough for the box(like I did.) So if you want to be a cheap bastard you must wait. Sorry. How can you pass on that HUGE coffee table booklet??? Digital downloads are for 14 year old spoiled brat iPad users(Crikey! That last comment should really get 'em goin.) We need Brain Salad Surgey books, pictures, records, CDs, DVD-Audios and boxed cigarettes! We need to have some physical product to stick in our grubby little mits and then chew on a bit during the real exciting parts of the 5.1 mix.
Yes, yes, yes, we all want Trilogy the most, but this Box turned out to be a real nice surprise AND we got news of an unearthed 4.0 recording of KarnEvil 9 live. How cool is that!?!?
@doppelbock: I recall Jakko made a vague reference to Trilogy in 5.1. Did he actually state that the mix had been completed? I don't recall.

I await your review of the box when it arrives oh free spending lupin thief!
I love vinyl, but unfortunately my collection has gone, as has my record player. I've never bought a digital download in my life. It has to be physical product for me. And I'm not a cheap bastard!
I'm picky when it comes to box sets, my family comes first so I pass on crap like the Pink Floyd box sets of late and the Quadrophenia Director's edition...
This BSS box seems just right! I am serious, I love that coffee table sized picture book!
I know you are not. I just love calling my friends "cheap bastards", as well as "Loretta" and "stupid git" so I hope you don't mind. :yikes
Well, The Wall set was pretty useless. Don't know why they even put that one out. Had nothing to offer.
I like the majority of the ELP catalog, and most certainly BSS. But only a "stupid git" would call the Floyd sets crap in a comparison.
Same here. Or at least if they threw in a wool scarf.Just to make sure we are on the same page; I was referring to the immersion sets. Take The Wall set for example, for around 110 smackers(USA) we get recycled stuff that most PF fans have bought already. The same live Wall from Earl's Court(I bought that already) and the same "remastered" 2.0 from the last box. So there was exactly nothing new to the finished product. Yes it did have some very early demo tapes, if you like that sort of thing...
Next... I will quote Good Sir fredBlue:
"I didn't even know there had been an Immersion box set for The Wall.. or if I did I've totally forgotten! Don't tell me, I can guess the contents.. more marbles, cardboard coasters and stupid scarves.. that when you stick them all together form a bloody great Wall of completely pointless bollocks!
"We don't need no marbles, coasters,
We don't need no nylon scarves..
Hey, EMI, leave that crap alone!"
Sad thing is: Had the PF immersion set of The Wall contained a 5.1 remix I would have declared it an absolute triumph.
