after few years of break, listened to "War of the Worlds".
pretty good albeit my previous thought from 10 or so years back that this particular release could much more benefited from being issued as DVD-A with cool done slideshow on the theme, still valid.

Another one I still NEED to buy :).

I was so tempted buy this one (hah), but I agree with some reviewers, sounds like Ms. Jones has a bad cold if I remember correctly. Just couldn't get past that.

She doesn't sound great, but not terrible. I went and youtubed some of her more classic work today. This album is not a great example of her work. It actually gets better the further you get in the album. But, I'm not a big fan of religion and it is pretty much just stream of consciousness lyrics and music, based on Jesus quotes. It's interesting. I found it for a few pesos, so WTH, right?

Chicago III Quadio, very first time listening to this incredible album. Am I liking the the Chicago Quadio Blu-ray release? Oh yeah.

Roy Harper - Live at Metropolis Studios, London / DVD-V (DTS 5.1)

A great place to start if you haven't had the pleasure of discovering Mr. Harper. Nothing imaginative in the mix, just him and his guitar with some nice vocal effects, but a decent use of all channels, and a very close in-the-room sound. Small room, playing in front of 120 people. The man's definitely still got it goin' on - it's too bad he couldn't have gotten Mr. Page to join him for a few tunes they've done together...

A MC release of her debut album would be an instant purchase for me. Oh why do I torture myself by dreaming so large:confused:

Earth, Wind & Fire - Head to the Sky (SACD)

I've had the 2-ch LP since the 1970s. It's a dream come true to listen to the Quad version in Hirez.

Thank you, Audio Fidelity!

Alice Cooper Muscle of Love Audio Fidelity 4.0 SACD: I thought this sounded good enough before but with adjustments made to optimize for the Chicago Quadio's, it sounds even better. Oppo-93 set to HDMI Audio LPCM, Fronts and Surrounds with crossovers of 80 Hz, using the Multichannel setting and with some hesitation and pleasant surprise using the Onkyo AVR with Audyssey active. A little adjust on the sub and it all came together. With the Quadio, I have to let the Oppo do the decoding because I suspect the AVR doesn't know exactly what to do with the 192K signal and couldn't get anything to the sub but at 96K the bass management is splendid. Ahh . . .

Revisiting a little bit of "Chicago VII" right now (DTS-HD Master Quadio 4.0), simply one of the best discs in the entire box set IMHO! :)
