"Mancini Salutes Sousa" along with "The Concert Sound..." are fun and a nice bonus disc, but honestly I'll likely listen to it only a few times.

The highlight of this DV release is the pair of "The Best of Mancini" volumes one and two. I about wore out my old LP of the first volume, purchased back in the sixties, and imagine I'll give this SACD many spins. The remix engineers must have considered this a labor of love, because the quadrophonic mix is downright elegant -- a perfect fit for the many superb film and TV themes presented here. Mr. Dutton's mastering is smooth and on-point as usual.

One small caveat: the on-screen menu mixes up tracks 5 and 9 (Fallout and Baby Elephant Walk), although they are listed correctly on the CD track list insert. Something I did not notice until the third or fourth play through. A very minor flaw.

Really highly recommended for even a casual listener and absolutely must-have for a dyed-in-the-wool Mancini fan.

Unlike many Blu-Ray and DVD discs, SACDs are audio only and never have visuals. I wonder what you mean by on-screen menu.

IMO, a very solid 10! Extraordinary sonics across 4 albums containing some of Hank Mancini's most beautiful creations. His Sousa tribute sounds like it was recorded yesterday!

Probably the display of metadata on screen by the player. That's not a "menu," @hafquark, just track information contained on the disc.
By whatever name, it's a list of the tracks displayed on the TV when the SACD is played.

I only mentioned it because I was startled at how sinister the Baby Elephant Walk sounded when I was scanning the track list, which in fact turned out to be Fallout. No big deal, just some sort of glitch. It certainly does not detract from the excellence of the DV surround release.
