Are you able to upload a photo?
The tearing and rippling, I think, are unrelated shipping damage.
Also, a general quibble: no text on the spine, just like AFTK. Grrr!

I hate that there is no text on the spine too!View attachment 78043

No. It is not.
However you wish to describe it, the mixes are new and quite different than those that were streaming previously. This is confirmed by multiple members in the other Moving Pictures thread, plus my own ears...So they had the time and money to do two different Dolby Atmos mixes? Cool. Would love to see the source for that info.
Yes, the 40th Anniversary Atmos mix that appeared last Friday is the same as what's on the Blu-Ray (sans bitrate). However, there is a second Atmos mix of the entire album that went live on Apple Music in early February. Listening just to "Tom Sawyer", there appears to be quite a bit more reverb on the snare and vocals in this version. I have no idea why they would commission two distinct Atmos mixes, but that seems to be what happened here.the atmos mixes are the same sans bitrate, prove me otherwise

Does Apple music have the capability to display in depth infos like that? The credits for the Atmos version of Limelight on Tidal show:
Immersive Mix Engineer: Richard Chycki
Mix Engineer: Greg Penny
That version has a date of November 08, 2019.
Tom Sawyer has a date of December 13, 2019 but doesn't have mix credits. I assume they're the same.
The rest of the tracks haven't shown up in Atmos on Tidal so far but they're up on Apple so maybe someone with Apple Music can check?
Since these are from 2019, I suppose it's possible that Greg Penny was handed Chycki's original 5.1 mix and asked to create an Atmos mix from it? I like Greg's Atmos mixes that I've heard and they're generally a lot more interesting than these two tracks. He did the Atmos mix of Rocket Man for instance and on that one he's listed as the Immersive Mix Engineer. It's a very cool mix if you haven't heard it.
Are these from the new box set or the old 2011 blu-ray? I haven't listened to that one in years, and I can't remember whether there were different audio streams or not. I did a rip and I only access that one.Another interesting twist with the Blu-Ray is that once the two 5.1 streams are level-matched, the rear channels on the Dolby TrueHD are exactly 3 dB quieter than the DTS-HD. Once you raise all six channels of the Dolby 3 dB and bump the rears up another 3, it completely nulls out with the DTS.

Different mixes were up in February. So, which Atmos version is this on Tidal?
https://tidal.com/album/224203144
The album title says "40th Anniversary" so I assume it is the same mix as the Blu-ray in the new box. I don't recall this Atmos mix being on Tidal back in February, but it's possible I missed it.

Interestingly enough, on the recent Kiss Destroyer Blu-Ray there actually was a difference between the DTS-HD and Dolby True-HD 5.1 streams. It's definitely the same mix/master, but the rear channels on the Dolby are ~3 dB quieter. I'd guess this was an unintentional mastering error?
I'm in the same boat but only have Tidal service. Someone responded later in the thread that Apple doesn't show the detailed info though.Does Apple music have the capability to display in depth infos like that?
i had Tidal, but cannot afford to keep 2 services
That was very interesting thanks for sharing! Sounds like him and Alex are really good friends, and to give credit where credit is due it does seem like he’s getting better at it judging from the positive reaction to his Road Apples mix and now the new MP. I just wish Spotify would hop on the spatial audio bandwagon as that is my streaming service of choice. There’s so many immersive audio mixes streaming I really want to hear but have no means to at the moment.Perhaps this isn't the right spot to post it, but I got the chance to interview Chycki a few weeks ago and the article just went live. Say what you will about his mixes, the guy is clearly passionate about surround/immersive music.

https://www.quadraphonicquad.com/fo...cki-dolby-atmos-mix.31859/page-21#post-624000The new 5.1 mix is a big step up from the old version.I have yet to read any comments or reviews of the 5.1 mix contained in the box. Anyone? Comparisons to the Atmos, comparisons to the previous 2011 5.1 mix?
Thanks for pointing me to that. Would you say the new 5.1 is basically the same as the Atmos mix but without the heights? Your description of the new 5.1 mix seems to coincide with my impressions of the Atmos mix (which I have only heard streaming on Apple Music). Just trying to assess whether this box would be worth grabbing if it drops to a certain price point in the future.https://www.quadraphonicquad.com/fo...cki-dolby-atmos-mix.31859/page-21#post-624000The new 5.1 mix is a big step up from the old version.
