Didn't they have a different drummer for a while?
Before or after this?
In the 1980s they had Cozy Powell for a bit and went by Emerson, Lake and Powell.

Saw that lineup in 1986. They were awesome. This is my favorite tune from the Powell version of the band.

Well, well, well, . . . it's been years! At home, i've been listening to digitized music exclusively for nearly two decades. I have hundreds and hundreds of albums in the basement, and i haven't played them since We moved into our current digs a little over 18 years ago! I took my turntable and a couple of dozen albums to school (yeah, i was that teacher!), and i would DJ between classes and during my free periods (kids dug having lunch in my room!). When i retired, i bequeathed my system to a younger teacher who has been carrying on the tradition, so i'm told! Any hoo, this last Record Store Day, i waited in line to score my daughter a copy of Legendary Typewriter Tape 1964 by Janis Joplin and Jorma Kaukonen. Nervous that it might sell out, i made it to my local record store about 5 hours before opening. I was third in line. I did score my daughter the lp, and, whilst waiting, i kept looking at the list of releases. The 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of Captain Beefheart's Clear Spot was calling out to me . . . so i bought it! And now, two weeks later, i set up a turntable on which to spin it!

Welcome back to the dark side... 😈

Well, all right, kid dynomite–maybe i'm back in White! Also picked up these Jay Dee (aka J Dilla) Yancey Boys Instrumentals discs on Black Friday RSD. This release comes "pressed on 1 of 4 random colors." My first disc is white! The second one is a trippy clear tangerine! Dopeness–know what i'm saying!? Know what i mean?! These instrumentals remind me of the times when students would come into my classroom, play beats, sit in a cipher circle, and freestyle fertile flow guaranteed to make a smile grow like those golden daze of stinkweed haze indeed, stringing ideas together like a supersized centipede!

I hear it is cut directly from the analog tapes. Does it say that anywhere on the package?

I want this set but so many other things I want too when I have priorities.

Hoo, boy! Do i hear you about wants and priorities. I threw it all to the wind and spent the money, hoping the music would bring me some joy during my dark night of the soul. Here's a shot of the hype sticker on top of one of the sleeves of the original tape boxes. I hope you are able to score this one . . . and more!

Stay Surrounded, Comrade!

Unfortunately, that Hype Sticker doesn’t tell us anything because they all claim that they were remastered from original tapes. The sticker should state if it’s Cut Analog or Digitally from the Original Analog Master Tapes.

Oops! Sorry. I haven't bought a record since the early 90's, so this is new to me. I tried to find some info, and this is as close to an answer for you as I can find (spoiler alert: he doesn't have the answer, but he does love the sound and the pressing):

I'll be back to my local record store soon, and i'll ask the owner, who might have some verifiable insight for you. Peace

Yes, I watch every video Mike uploads. He seems to think it was cut directly from analog tape.

I had never seen him until i searched for an answer to your question. I have a feeling i'll be watching a LOT more of him in the future! Maybe even a road trip to Phoenix! I wonder why all my favorite YouTube music men are named Mike (@edisonbaggins !)!? Stay Surrounded, Comrade!

Correct and it is a GZ pressing so that pretty much tell you it is digital in the chain.
