That would suck but I'd still buy it and give it a chance. He's got such a great track record that I feel there is a better chance of me liking it than not liking it.

I will get it because I like everything he does but I prefer a guitar album. At least from sjcorne, it seems that we'll have more guitar

I'm hearing some nice acoustic guitar here (á la "Welcome to the Machine" or The Hurting), but there was some of that on TFB as well IIRC.

I'm not. From where are you getting this sense?

Having read a lot of SW's book, my impression is he believes his core fan base wanted TFB to sound like a classic prog rock album. I've certainly read a lot of fanboys gaslighting those who give a negative opinion of the record, with this assertion.

For my part, I love lots of pop. No issues with anybody putting out pop music. I just want it to be strong pop music, and TFB strikes me, to this day, as a failed pop effort. I.e. simply uninteresting and even annoying musically.

I also have no issues with anybody who likes or loves the record. Good for them. The favor should be extended the other way.

There’s a solo Bluray version, but then I’m reading from the box version:

"The third disc is an exclusive deluxe version of the BluRay, which contains high-resolution 96/24 stereo, 5.1 surround and Dolby Atmos mixes from The Harmony Codex, 2 videos as well as exclusive instrumental versions of the complete 65-minute album in high-resolution 96/24 stereo, 5.1 surround and Dolby Atmos formats."

The “exclusive” highlights are mine. Does that mean the solo Bluray is something less complete than the version in the box? A bit hard to know for sure when it’s being translated.

I kind of feel like I’m making this more complicated than it is, but it’s been a long day.

My advice to everyone is to wait a couple hours or days to let this thing get rolled out onto all the normal websites. There's no reason to get the preorder in this second, none of this is going to be short printed from what I can tell [Burning Shed sometimes gets an easter egg exclusive like a signed card, etc. so maybe keep a look out for that if it interests you]. The details will be clearer as it gets posted to more places.

Totally agree, but still excited that this is coming soon. This is exactly the sort of purchase I like to make through Burning Shed, not so much for bonus stuff, but more for their reliability in getting my purchase to me on time and without any drama.

If the image of the deluxe edition on JustForKicks is the actual packaging, I’m happy. The one thing I didn’t like about The Future Bites was that it didn’t fit with the book sets I had for Steven’s previous albums.

Yeah, I was just waiting for someone here to notice it. Already did a thread on my own forum about that.
(It's called the "Aug 22" mix, which happens to be Roland's birthday - reminds me of when he released the "Sons of August" mix of "Elemental".)

Yes, it looks like there's 1 Deluxe Blu-Ray edition containing the instrumental 5.1 mixes of the album as the regular Blu-Ray has the 5.1 and Atmos+2 videos but no 5.1 instrumental.

I have dozens of special editions with instrumental versions, never have and never will listen to them, if an album has vocals why would I not listen to them?
