I thought it was a reference to Gary Snyder's lovely book of poems that carries that title.
It is lovely. And Snyder is referencing the same thing! My wife and i have spent lots of time on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. I recollect once, a Lakota girl was showing us pictures on her phone, scrolling through hundreds of shots. Every time the picture was of the landscape, she would say, "Turtle Island, Turtle Island, Island, Island, Island, . . ."

When i was in high school, i stumbled onto Jack Kerouac (typical high school move!) and, through Kerouac, onto the poetry of Gary Snyder. I remember telling high school students, when i taught them Snyder's poetry, that Turtle Island was the first work by a West Coast poet to win the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry. Which is just my way to slip in yet another work that sounds amazing on the SM! Students turned me on to Kendrick Lamar through his mixtapes, well before he earned any mainstream airplay or coverage. I was always impressed by Lamar's verbal prowess. DAMN. was the first non-classical and non-jazz work to win the Pulitzer Prize for Music . . . and damned if it doesn't sound amazing through the SM! I listened to it late last night and am re-upping this morning!

wHoa! This release brings together three of my favorite things: 1) the music of Ennio Morricone, 2) the mastery of John Zorn, 3) the magic of the SM! When Zorn's reimagining of Morricone is played through the SM, the cascading cacophony causes cranial cataclysm . . . in the BEST possible way! Highest possible recommendation! Tell 'em Clement sent you!

Probably my favo(u)rite Joni Mitchell album. By the way, that is i in the third picture . . . well, sporting a toupee–i haven't had that hairline since the early 90s!

Hmmm, not sure how a CD-4 LP would decode through a QS decoder, I've never tried it

Oh! First, i should have posted that on another thread ("spinning now," i guess)--this one is for stereo (but that SM is a Magic Box). Second, is there a Google Translate page to help a neophyte understand your post?

The LP cover you're showing is for the Quadradisc version (aka CD-4 discrete Quad, takes a CD-4 Demodulator piece of gear), so not sure what you mean either LOL

Ah! So MUCH to learn!! Sounds great through the ol' SM! But then again, very little that i've played doesn't sound grand! Lemme know how CD-4s sound to you!

The Joni is a great 4 channel mix, the first one that blew me away (besides the AP Dark Side), but I heard it on Q8. One of the handful of CD4 that makes me want to chase that Quadradisc dragon. I bet it really sparkles.
