As I mentioned several pages back, mine is due to arrive today via USPS. I'll be curious to see how Bull Moose packaged this one up. I don't want any scarred corners. :)

So, 8am central here in Illinois. Generally on Saturday, mail-man delivers around 2PM. Geez......pumping down the coffee now.
My copy from Bullmoose is out for delivery as well so I should get around the same time as you get yours Gene. That’s given the time of my usual mail delivery plus the time difference between Illinois and Massachusetts.

Here you go! We'll see if this gets taken down...

really cool Mike

I like how you isolated the atmos. Shows all the other poor souls out there without atmos systems what they're missing. j/k lol

Atmos is just another way to reproduce a 3D sphere of sound (that would be heard in a recording studio, or Symphony Hall, or just real life) as opposed to a flat 2D linear "wall" of sound.

On top of it all, the stars have alligned. It is raining! Which means, I don't have to work (I'm in agriculture and it's harvest season)....Abbey Road is due to arrive. Damn straight my good friends. I'm fired up.
What do you do in agriculture?
Just curious...

Here's a look at the album in 7.1. Pretty active mix, I will post thoughts once I listen to individual channels

Just watched it Mike. Very cool indeed!!
Did I hear you singing in the background ?... :D

One very happy Oxford Utd supporter here, we won 3 0, That's 13 goals scored in a week and not conceding any..get in, c'mon you yellows.
Gonna play Abbey Road again tonight and tomorrow and, and. and....

What a relief that Giles has produced a masterful mix.

I am fascinated with this Atmos mix. Up until now, I've pretty much assumed that the 7th and 8th channels were used for ambient stuff, like echoes and reverb, they were there to add space. But this mix of Abbey Road is more than that, it's real. There is real stuff there that is nowhere else.

If you look at the comparison wav files below, you can see that sometimes the channels 7 and 8 have what is in the 5.1 mixes 5 and 6 channels (rears), yet in other songs they don't. You can also see that the fronts in the Atmos mix are less loud, which to me would indicate that some audio stuff has been pulled from the fronts and put in the other channels. This is very encouraging.

I am now more than ever tempted to go "all in" on an Atmos upgrade, which is something I thought I would never do. Very nice job by Giles and the team on this one. This could actually be one of the greatest surround mixes of the past decade.

I.for one, am very pleased that you have found this Atmos mix to be as good as my ears were telling me.(and clearly others by the current Atmos poll results)

As I have said before, you will not find many more sceptical people than me, over new formats. I have had my Atmos set up for a year now :
AND IT IS THE BEST SURROUND INVESTMENT I HAVE EVER MADE.

To be immersed in 360 degrees of fantastic music is truly wonderful!!

Sales pitch over.

You won't regret it Jon. :QQlove :QQlove :QQlove

I've listened to [Atmos] Here Comes The Sun, The End, Golden Slumbers and Come Together...this disc is absolutely freaking incredible!! I was just laughing until I had tears in my eyes at some points looking at the screen in a blinking almost unbelievable fashion...they absolutely nailed it. For me, this blows away either Peppers or The Beatles, truly magnificent surround mix with loads of discrete and fully immersive sounds. Well bloody done sirs, well bloody done!
