I don't think $7 is too much to move a package from England across the Atlantic....people charge more than that on Ebay to ship a 1 oz. package to the next zip code. I guess it's relative. John

John makes a fair point. I live in London - recently the Royal Mail changed their policy. Weight is still relevant to the pricing but the deciding rate category now comes from the package dimensions. CD/DVD sets sometimes are thick enough to make the jump from a 'large letter' to a 'small parcel'. I ship a lot of discs and I've felt the pinch recently from this change. I'd go as far as saying they may even be taking a hit on the shipping.

PS does this win the 'most boring-but-accurate post' award? ;)

If you have learned anything as a QQ member it's PATIENCE! Amazon US will have this available for preorder in plenty of time. If you are an Amazon Prime member, you will get free 2 day delivery - and for most new releases, that means delivered to your door on street date. I love Burning Shed - but shelling out my money 2 - 3 months in advance and then waiting 10 days or so for it to arrive after shipping, makes me anxious.

cost $12.50 from NY state to New Zealand

Being in the middle of nowhere has advantages.... shipping costs ain't one of them. :(

On the Burning Shed thing, they are quick... I've had discs get to me in 3 days from the UK....:yikes

14.00 USD to send a padded mailer from NY state to Canada...
Shipping from USA to Canada has more than tripled lately. I'd bet it's Canada's fault though. They probably increased the costs on their end.

I was really surprised they took payment as soon as I placed my order, my second frpm BS. I don't remember if they did that the 1st time. Ah! But it's paid for now, no worries in Oct.
I still am excited over this one. May get the BD also, if and when it gets to amazon. amazon has become a real class act. I have spent mucho bucko's there, but they do have the stuff!

About America:

Yesworld has only a 2.0 version advertised:
• America – Original Stereo Mix LPCM 192kHz/24bit flat transfer from original master tape

I sure hope the BS release info is right and America was mixed in 5.1. I love the 5.1 mix of America
on my Fragile DVD-A. I would love to know why Neil doesn't like that particular 5.1 mix.

Anyway, this sucks, I can not wait till late October. Why can't they sell this now?:howl @:  :howl

America for me just doesn't sound right compared to the stereo mix.....

I'd love to hear a Steven Wilson version of it...

Hear hear! I do feel those Kellogg/Klingberg 5.1 mixes are underrated and unfairly maligned by some.. those Chicago, ELP BSS & Fragile mixes are not perfect but have more than their fair share of high spots and things those guys mixed including Fragile, the 2 x Chicago's & the 2 x Foreigner albums are among my favourite 5.1 DVD-A's.

IMHO - BSS, Chicago (II) and V are winners, Foreigner 4 is good (but not great) , Fragile is OK - but could be much better, and Foreigner - S/T is a miss (for me)... YMMV

Yes, I think people who are critical of a 5.1 discrete mix don't realize that since this is done on 30 year old music it is not possible to have the band or the original engineer there and the mix will frankly be somebody elese's intrepretation, which by definition make it non-objective and you can always find something to fault since it will vary from the original 2.0 mix. Do I think Steven Wilson's 5.1 mixes are absolute & definitive? No. But he is a genius and a godsend to the 5.1 community and should be given a fookin medal, I say!

I think the problem with Fragile may be that the music was surprisingly simple for a prog band and when it spreads out over 5 channels it gets a little thin, and that may be a bit alarming to some.

I love your avatar by the way, though my favorite music is progressive rock, my all time favorite 5.1 discrete mix just may be Elton's Captain Fantastic. That mix is pure perfection and I feel so lucky for the experience each time I play it in 5.1. All of the Elton John mixes are great, IMHO..

Now if they would just properly do RUSH in 5.1 we will be all set!

really!? my mileage does vary! :p The Foreigner DVD-A's are great! The 1st album is Very crankable and sounds miiiiiles better than it has any right to (Lou's vocals sound incredible, he's in the room with you! it totally pisses over the old CD in every way!) its got a great mix that opens up everything really nicely.. and the 4 DVD-A has an amazing surround mix, more adventurous than the self-titled one, with fun things panning about the place in certain tracks, fidelity is superb too! It helps the 1st album still kicks serious ass despite the played-to-death big hitters! justice was done to them, I'd love to see anyone try and improve on those two Foreigner 5.1's but I doubt anyone will now, so as it is I'm very happy to have them both in great surround presentations! :D

Can you people please refrain from abbreviating Burning Shed as "BS". Everytime I read it I see Bullshit. :howl

Though I don't like abbreviations, it seems the internet won't function without them. Since it is kinda hard to keep in mind all of your or other's little exceptions to words we can't abbreviate, I think it would be best if Burning Shed changes their name to something more abbreviation friendly.;)

How about this - BuSh. ;)

I may be in the minority here but I grew up on Foreigner LP records. Head Games is one of my favorites and I would love to see it in the surround format. I have a harder time listening to "4". I do not have it in surround, only in stereo. I could never get over it being one of their top selling albums and Lou Gramm's voice sounds like crap compared to all their other releases.
