The Life in Surround Review is up, featuring a quick Atmos system tour and a demonstration on accessing the easter egg video:

Hey, you didn’t introduce us to your four legged friends in the video!

Thank you for showing us how to find the Something video.

So I see that you have your speakers setup for Auro3D (with them mounted straight above your fronts and surrounds). Have you tried them in a more traditional Dolby Atmos configuration? The front heights may not be able to be moved, but the rear heights could be brought in behind you with that bookcase. I had a couple of friends holding up my speakers in several different places before I mounted them. The final config was much closer to the standard Atmos design with the front ceiling speakers moved in off of the front wall toward the listening position and the the rear ceiling mounted behind me. I wonder if different speaker layouts effect the over all sound of Atmos mixes? For example, what if the mixer wanted to move the sound from the front towards the listeners and then back behind them. With an Auro3D config, the sound would start in the front, move straight up to the top and then out to the side surrounds and then out back behind you with your rear speakers. This moving sound example would probably be used more in a movie vs music, but if the mixers are mixing the music using Atmos, surely they have their studio monitors setup to design specs. I wonder how much difference ceiling speakers positioning may make?

Thank you for your Atmos videos,
David H

Mine arrived today - I get the Apple Corps Screen on my oppo udp 203 but nothing else (well...an error message...). Currently playing the disc on my $150 AUD (not USD) sony player - so far so good...

Seems like there really is a disc quality issue in this initial run. Hope they supply replacements! I remember feeling rather tense when I first put my copy in, having read about another member not being able to play theirs in the same player I have: yet it worked! :dance

My copy arrived this morning, I've played it 4 times now twice in 5.1 and twice in Atmos, I've used my Sony and Oppo players without incident.
I really like the Atmos mix a lot, I think it's the first of my Atmos discs that I've actually "got it", where others just haven't clicked for me. It's looking like a 10 for both mixes.
And the BASS there's quite a bit of it, unlike the Kenny Wayne Shepherd that I've been playing lately.

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy...Delivery has just changed this morning from arriving tomorrow to arriving today!!!! :SB:SB:SB

now it is not
I have an Oppo BDP-83 SE and the disc plays fine. However, I do notice more noise coming from the player as the disc loads up. It’s a rattling or whirring noise. Like the engine was working harder on this disc than normal. I’m not sure if that means there is something about the authoring if the disc that some players just can’t handle without firmware updates or something. Just an observation, doubt it helps much.

More likely there's a physical issue with your disc. Check the center hole for abnormalities or damage.

This statement I have found to be correct a few times and only on Blu Ray. Back in the day when I got my copy of Quadrephenia Blu Ray, I could not get it to play and returned 4 copies all to keep having the same problem. I was lucky enough just by chance to bump into the McIntosh heads and was told take a piece of lightweight sand paper and just sand the inside of the hole a little. Now when ever this happens again I don't hesitate and just fix the disc. I think my Abbey Road copy arrives from CDJapan today, so I will see if it plays or not.

Hey, that just made me wonder, how many different factories are burning these discs? May come down to that.
