Wowzers! This is good! :) Just got the chance to listen! And now on the second run! Listening to the Atmos version on a 5.1.2 set up and this is fricking cool! Even Paul's granny music of Maxwell's Silver Hammer sounds sublime! Actually that was one of the stand out Atmos mixes for me on the first run...

However - totally blown away by' I Want You (She's So Heavy)' 🤯! Honestly, towards the end of that song I felt like I was in a Sci fi movie (where the aliens shine a light down from the spaceship and tractor beam you up 👽). In a good way! Really clever surround mixing... This is what it's all about!

It's a very sophisticated mix and matches the music perfectly. And this music is pretty much as good as it gets... I could do with a tiny bit more experimentation in some places... Like in 'The End' it could've been cool to use the surrounds for the guitar solo's as well? But nitpicking and it still sounds great... This is one of my favourite albums and Giles and Sam have delivered big time. Thank you chaps... I'll be listening to the 5.1 at some point to compare!

If you ever make the jump to 5.1.4, you'll be rewarded with active panning up in the Atmos. Like that white noise during She's So Heavy. It swirls around and fades in and out of areas in the room. It's crazy.

Yeah it's defo on the list... Upgraditus is a habit I just can't beat! :) I'm sure it sounds better... At the moment I'm sort of winging it with my current set up as those heights aren't fixed. But one day it'll 'come together'!

Hopefully they'll release the theatrical Atmos versions of Pepper and TWA at some point? Although if it's in another expensive boxset I might give it a miss... Thinking Amazon Music HD might offer them?

First off, I've had no problems playing the bluray on either my Oppo BDP-93 or my Sony UBP-x800.
Wonderful experience listening to this album in such great sound. As it did for someone else on this forum, it brought a tear to my eye. I was 20 when this album was first released and the memories and sheer joy of such wonderful music was overwhelming.
A few minor quibbles: The chorus in Octopus's Garden is too loud imo. I also think the bass guitar in "Because" needed to be stronger. Finally, the opening crash of "Her Majesty" also sounded too weak to me.
These are minor distractions from what is a glorious surround experience. I will vote a 9 for this release. My emotions want me to vote a 10, but I just can't say it's perfect. Wish I could vote a 9.5.

If Abbey Road was released today.

I've got to get out of here, from all this talk of Russian Roulette (since I'm still waiting on mine - DHL is slooooow); and go write up a review for something else. I'm sure AR sounds spectacular! 🥳
Unlike others I have not heard or even ordered AR yet. My B'day was yesterday & I knew there was a chance of getting it as a gift. Instead I got a bottle of my favorite Japanese Whiskey which is great to sip but not much to listen to.

I will no doubt place my order soon. It seems like it either works & sounds incredible or nothing at all. I feel regret for those having troubles. It is good, however, to have this forum to alert on this situation. It will be interesting to see how this pans out; if an official reply is made that explains the problems.

Hopefully I'll be posting again enthralled with discovering AR all over again!

Listened to the Atmos mix once all the way through and now just started “side two” on the second listen through. Flat out it’s everything I wanted and more. It sounds insanely great. Very active surrounds and lots of discrete elements. And the bass is incredible. The low end on Ringo’s kick drum and Paul’s bass guitar. Wow. Also, the detail on these two things, the mallet hitting the kick, the pluck of the bass strings sound incredible. I’ve never heard such detail on these songs.

My only complaint is small, but Paul’s vocal in You Never Give Me Your Money, the “out of college, money spent” bit... I still want the vocal to pan from side to side. I get that overall, remixing should put the vocals in the center, but this was one time when the pan should have been kept, nay improved!

Other than that, perfection!

I'm not Canadian but my Abbey Road order from Bullmoose reminded me of my favorite intersection in Banff(with hats off to Rocky and Bullwinkle). And, no, it's NOT a photoshop job!

Being that the signs are in Canada, they might have meant The Cucumber Club. The hosts were Moose and Squirrel.
