Just so ya know, there is another Quadio release scheduled for 10/25 as part of an expanded edition for general release.
More details to follow, I'm sure!
This is VERY intriguing to say the least! The last time something like this happened was with the Joni Mitchell box set with the old/new quad mixes. I was just scrolling through Ultimate Classic Rock and didn't see anything on their upcoming October releases post for anything that would fit ForagingRhino's post. So many QUADIO releases to look forward to!

I forgot about that although I was still able to get it myself through Amazon last year. Wonderful release so here's looking forward to this "archive" release and upcoming QUADIO drop. Like many other of the QuadraphonicQuad forum members, I have really enjoyed Rhino's QUADIO series and it really is how an ongoing reissue series can and should be done. I also enjoy being "turned on" to music that I have previously passed up on. The quad mixes/releases that have come out this past year+ have been uniformly excellent. Thank you!

There are not that many quad mixed "Best of" albums in the (formerly known as) WEA family of artists.

Thinking it is not Doors, unlikely to be Judy Collins, and I'm guessing not Bread either. So that does indeed narrow it down quite a bit doesn't it!

And Jackson Browne's "Late for the Sky" is also celebrating its 50th anniversary in September and he was recently featured in a New York Times article talking about the anniversary. I don't subscribe to the digital NYT so I did not have access to the whole article, so I can't comment further on its content. But wouldn't be fantastic if "Late For The Sky" came out as a deluxe box set similar to the recent Deep Purple "Machine Head" that also contained a Blu-ray of the album along with its Quad mix (remember, we only found out after its release that the band said "no" to a "stand alone" QUADIO release as they wanted the Quad mix, etc. to be part of the Deluxe 50th Anniversary release). This is all probably wishful thinking, but one can hope, right?! Afterall, Joni "green lighted" her recent box set with Quad mixes so there is artist president here...

Wow, didn't know about this and it matches the hope I had that the 'no' was because his camp are planning something to include a surround component. It would be weird to say 'no' to Rhino and have that be the end of it unless Jackson doesn't like the mix or something.

I don't know... The idea that Foraging Rhino said
We have asked Mr. Browne's people, they said no.
and that meant, "No, we can't make it a quad Blu Ray (because they're gonna use it for a surround set)" just seems nakedly deceptive and obtuse on Foraging Rhino's part.

Of course, my logic is built upon the idea that Rhino is privy to what releases Browne's team hopes to release. Yet... if Browne's team were to want to use the quad mix, isn't Rhino Records the most sensible avenue for that?

On that note, if I may ask you, @ForagingRhino, are quad tapes being digitized on strictly a "this album is planned for release" basis or are tapes that are not currently planned for release also being digitized?

I am unaware of the time and effort that goes into that side of preservation so I am curious to learn more. (And of course, music preservation is incredibly important to music lovers as a whole, but audiophiles especially.)

Actually this is more like the Doors Singles collection when some smart guy thought to add the quad Best Of comp to the mix.

So it has to be either Aretha Franklin, Bread or Carly Simon. The Sinatra GH2 and the unreleased Jethro Tull M.U. no longer belong to WMG, and the Doors already came out.

I can't think of another GH album that was a Quadradisc, unless it's an artist that wasn't originally on WEA.

In either case, this would be a great Quadio! The Aretha, an original 2010 Quadio, would sound even better on BluRay, the Bread Best of is a highly sought after SACD and the Quadio would most likely put it to shame, and the Carly would be super as it contains quad tracks from her second album which never got a quad release.

To me, that's a win-win-win, no matter what the case.

So yeah it comes down to which artist is likely getting a deluxe treatment on one of their albums.

Yet quad tracks not previously on a main album, yes again likely. Not Tull, Bread. Aretha, and for sure not Sinatra. And Sergio Mendes did not have any hits from his quad album… really don’t think there is a deluxe edition in the works there either.
