Oh ok….I just wrote them myself asking all the questions anyone here at QQ could think of….

1. Where does it ship from
2. Do you charge cards at time of shipping?
3. Most importantly because the mixer chosen for this particular set, which has a rotten history with multi-channel mixes (actually hit or miss), if the mix is horrendous can I return my order back for a full refund, because I’m just purchasing it mainly for the ATMOS MIX.

They say they respond within 48 hrs

I can assure you the answer to number 3 is "no" as the mix being horrendous or not is a subjective appraisal.
You might as well have asked, "Don't you think it's a unfair to make fans have to buy a $300 box set just for the Atmos mix when it may totally suck? Why don't you sell the blu-ray as a stand alone?

Oh boy, I can't wait to see what convoluted response you get.
No doubt….but if you don’t ask then you tend to suffer the consequences (I’m not going to throw away over $300 in a product just to get one disc that might be TOTAL CRAP. You be better spending $150 on a flight to VEGAS and play a few rounds of CARDS or even try your luck at the CRAPS TABLE (yup …pun intended)😂😂😂😂

I will if I don’t get the answer I want…..don’t want to OVERWHELM……their CSR’s ( even though I think I already did)😂😂😂

I'm still lamenting this release as I watch the documentary "Time Stand Still" on youtube... a "Moving Pictures" surround mix by Steven Wilson would have made this set a purchase at any price for me*. My AFTK set will have to remain my lone Rush Deluxe Boxed Set, I guess (but hopefully not forever).

*well, up to $500 USD, I think, lol

You can still buy it on eBay for $250 also IMPORT CD although back ordered has it for $110

My point is that I'll pay big bucks for a Steven Wilson Rush mix, but I'll pay no bucks for a Rich Chycki mix (but thanks for the info :) )
When I first saw this box advertised, right away I started to think that it had to be SW since we had a precedent for it. I was already starting to think how I'd make it work when I saw the price. As soon as I got further into it and realized it was Chycki again, that killed it pretty much instantly. Although, I am interested in how he did a new 5.1 for it. Does that mean he thinks he learned something and did a better mix this time? I tend to doubt it...

When I read that Steven Wilson had done Atmos mixes for some big 2022 releases the first album I thought of and hoped for was Moving Pictures. This is such disappointing news. I don't understand why they'd bring Richard Chycki back to revisit an album that he has already done and pretty poorly at that. I admit I do like the 5.1 mixes he did for the side two tracks better than anything else he's done. The side one tracks are pretty bad though and I get better results from upmixing the stereo version.

I assume the Atmos versions of Tom Sawyer and Limelight on Tidal are his and they're not much different imo. In fact, I thought they might just be upmixes of his original 5.1 mix.

I haven't seen anything that definitively indicates a new 5.1 mix. I think it's entirely possible—if not probable—that the 5.1 will be the same Chycki mix from 2011. Only the Atmos is guaranteed to be new (aside from the previously released streaming tracks).

For the Atmos, I wonder if Chycki simply recalled his DAW session for the 2011 5.1 remix and re-assigned some elements to objects? It could explain why the Atmos mix on Apple Music sounds so similar to the old 5.1, as the EQ moves and instrument balances would be unchanged.

which is better, DVD audio or blu-ray?
The DVD-A/CD set and BDA/CD set were released at the same time and basically have the same content including the 5.1 mix in lossless hi-res. The Blu-ray has a choice of DTS-HD Master Audio or PCM. They both contain the music videos. I'd say grab the DVD-A set for $11.75 from Deep Discount while you can!

isn't the new atmos mix on apple the same mix as what will be on this physical release? I can't imagine Rush would pay someone to make a new streaming atmos mix for apple and then pay Chycki to make a different one for the physical release that is to be released within months of the streaming mix.

what I'm trying to say, is everyone wondering what this physical atmos release is going to sound like merely has to listen to the apple streaming mix now on apple because they are The Same Mix!

I posted this earlier #73, this is enough to say it is NOT the 2011 mix?

I find this statement all I really needed to read. I will purchase. (a Rush catalog first!),

A fourth bonus disc is a Blu-ray Audio disc with the core album newly mixed from the original multi-tracks in Dolby Atmos (a Rush catalog first!), Dolby TrueHD 5.1, and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound as done by noted producer/engineer Richard Chycki, alongside the previously available PCM Stereo mix.

I know I am going to buy this, I have my finger on the button twice today, but than I get cold feet.
The motorhead in me just has to have that car.
